Why should they comment? I am not talking about this issue or Fawad but it have seen many celebrities avoid commenting. It's even more tricky for a foreigner to do so. Katrina for example claims to have a Kashmiri father but has she ever commented on Kashmir or this latest terrorist attack? It's not an attempt to divert but a genuine example. Even Salman or Aamir haven't commented though I am sure they will eventually.
Some people have raised Fawad not wishing Indians for festivals or Independence Day. Yes as a fan I have felt he should do it. Don't know what his issue is about it as have seen many Pakistani celebrities like Mahira, Ali, Sanam Saeed wish their Indian fans during festivals especially Diwali. You can check their TL. Fawad though keeps wishing his fans for birthdays if they ask him to - Indian or Pakistani.

If not big , Sensitive or political issues , one can show affection by small gestures

For example wishing on occasions

Just checked fawad's Twitter account
He only wished Pakistanis on Independence Day ...while our actors wish their " Pakistani bros / sis" on 14th aug then to Indians on 15th ( Fawad is just an example , all other Pakistani artists r same )

Didn't chk if he wished on Diwali or not

He works in India , has fans here , He can show his care for them by such small gestures but he/ others don't bother abt such things while our actors are supposed to consider the feelings of their Pakistani fans ...

there's no point arguing with you because you hate fawad already but this is what fawad wrote on independence day
Wishing you all a very Happy Independence Day and praying that the years to come are full of prospect, peace and opportunity for everyone.

Can you tell me where he said Pakistan's independence day? btw Pakistan India independence days are a day apart. Just saying.

U can assume whatever u want ...u are a newcomer to know me here and my stands

I may have took Fawad's name but I said every other Pakistani artist is the same too ...I was lazy to type each and everyone's name ... And check the date dear ... he wished in 14th

Show me a single tweet ( dig his old ones or mahira's or Ali zafar's ) where they have wished on Diwali , Dussehra , Indian IDay , showed their sympathy for ppl when natural disasters have happened in India ( for example chennai floods )

No actor, cricketer or any sort of celebrity should take any stand on a political issue. Firstly, they cannot win no matter what they say and secondly they're not qualified enough to make statements which unfortunately does influence some people.

Is it? That's strange...If he chose to wish his countrymen, why not the people of India too who are loving him so much? 😕

It must be really about the backlash he will have to face back home from his people...Already he must be facing a lot of negativity about him extensively working in India and not just that but taking up bold characters like playing a gay etc...

Not just Fawad, I haven't seen any kind of communication, wishes etc from any of the Pakistani actors like you get to see very often from a lot of Indian actors...

If he is so scared then he should stay in her s safety cocoon.. Why venture out and don't bother to assimilate one bit.

They shouldn't, arts and politics are different. Keep it separate.

I am not sure about fawad but pretty sure mahira and sanam saeed (pak actors) have wished people on diwali and christmas.

I am Fawad's fan. I would want him to wish and acknowledge his fans on their days of celebration and religious festivals, at least the major ones. If his one tweet gives people happiness why not. On the other hand political situations can be tough to comment on.

Actors should either comment on every sensitive issue or keep quiet. Why is Mahira silent on terror attacks in India? She can pose with Parvez Musharraf's son in law and joke about Shiv Sena... And yet remain silent on the terrorists her country hosts and sends across the border. Yes, SS creates trouble..but it creates nuisance inside India. It doesn't send its men to fester trouble abroad and kill people. If Mahira has trouble with them then she should either stay in her country or seek police protection in India. If she doesn't have the guts to condemn terrorism then she should keep quiet about the fringe groups in her host country.
Edit. typos
