Dharmendra passes away at 89; Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone & other stars gather to pay their final respect

Legendary actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. Known for his powerful screen presence and long contribution to Hindi cinema, he had been under treatment for more than three weeks. The news travelled quickly, and by afternoon, several well known names from film and television began gathering to bid him farewell.

Shah Rukh Khan reached the Pawan Hans Crematorium to offer his respects. He was seen entering with his head covered by a white beanie, walking quietly past the crowd stationed outside. Govinda, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone also arrived at the cremation centre. All four kept a low profile as they made their way inside.

Ranveer Singh shared screen space with Dharmendra in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. The veteran actor played Ranveer’s grandfather in the film, and their scenes together had become a highlight for many viewers. After the film’s release, Ranveer had posted a picture with him on social media, calling it a cherished moment. The memories resurfaced today as he stepped out to pay his final tribute.

Amitabh Bachchan reached the Deol residence earlier in the day. Dharmendra’s final film will be Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film features Agastya Nanda in the lead role and is scheduled for release on December 25, 2025. Based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 India Pakistan War, the project holds significant historical weight. Dharmendra plays the role of Arun Khetarpal’s father. With its release coming after his passing, it will serve as a posthumous tribute to his long journey in cinema.
