It does not happen with all star kids even with their last name (even if they are talented). Karishma Kapoor, Abhishek Bacchan were talented. But they could not survive after flops. (Abhishek does character roles these days). Sonakshi Sinha is also talented, she has delivered a hit too. Somehow, they don't command attention as these two did.

I agree with those who are saying that not everyone gets do overs in BW. It is mostly star kids who do.

Ranbir is a very talented actor, but would he have top directors like Hirani, Basu and Ayan Mukherjee coming to him with scripts if he wasn't a Kapoor or the presumptive scion of the industry? No.

I remember Ranbir saying in an interview that he didn't want to audition for the role of a supporting character in the Captain America series, 'cause he is afraid of rejection aka what is normal for all the non-star kid actors out there.

Kareena came into her own post Jab We Met, I remember. That means she got a solid 6 years from her debut to get to where she is. Regular actors don't have that luxury. It's sink or swim.

@bold- I would like to disagree here. You could mention SLB gave him his debut because of his last name Kapoor but certainly not the others. Ayan cannot be counted because he has been Ranbir's best friend for years, it was likely to happen that they would collaborate like how a Zoya or Reema do! Basu, Hirani approached him much later till the time his acting talent had been recognised by everyone one. / Basu, Hirani don't approach Abhishek do they with the last name? The directors you mentioned, they are the least ones to be affected by nepotism, they are the ones who focus on their films more. Rockstar showed his mettle, despite it being a shitty film and must've affirmed basu's faith in him for Barfi. And Hirani casted him after Barfi! Other than that there have not been many big directors and if there have been it has been after his amazing perfomance in WUS.

I'm all up for the starkids getting the luxury debate and I do believe Bebo got it too! But to give credit where it is due, ranbir is here because of his talent.

Ranbir and Alia are two star kids who have proven to be good actors.

Ranbir can ACT , no one can deny that. Shes being a good protective sister, she would be bashed if she called him a flop.

I dare RK to give two three more flops and we will see if he will be still here

He is way too talented and has proved again and again.

Akki, Sallu, SRK, even Sr B got many chances, they all had a phase where their movies flopped . Still they got their chances to prove themselves.

Moreover, how many good actors do we have in BW? Ranbir is THE BEST
