Trying to play devil's advocate here.
I have seen many complain that most stars of the industry tend to ham and overact. Overacting is appreciated by the audience but are natural/understated performances disliked?
Is the BW brand of acting 'overacting'? Is it because people want fantasy and not reality when they go to watch movies?
Give me examples of performances where you thought the actor overacted but got accolades for it.
If you don't think so, which natural performances have been liked by the audience and critics alike?
Even when it comes to off screen personalities, do people prefer those who are hyperactive? Does it relate to them preferring extroverts and not introverts?
What is your opinion?
