Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Is mature' Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stealing Anushka Sharma's thunder?
Much to our surprise, Ash has not only stood her ground but she has completely overshadowed Anushka!

The fear was looming large on our mind! Ever since the reports of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would be paired up opposite a much younger Ranbir Kapoor have surfaced, we have been wondering if Ash would do justice to her character-and more importantly would she stand in out in spite of the vivacious presence of Anushka Sharma. Our fears were legitimate majorly because we were looking at Yash Chopra's Dil To Pagal Hai as a template. Didn't Karisma Kapoor's lively chracter completely outshone Madhuri Dixit in the film? But, frankly speaking, and much to our collective surprise, Ash hold her ground in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. In fact, her overwhelmingly stunning presence is undeniable!
While Anushka is more than a decade younger than Ash, the former Miss World sparkles like only she can. Ash had us absolutely hooked with that one frame in which she does Sallam. The elegant gestures and that arresting gaze will simply hypnotise you. Miss Sharma is also seen doing the same gesture later in the song but is she equally effective (read: attractive)? You decide! What had also given us panic attacks was the fact that Ash was paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Mind you when Ash was working as a lead actress in papa Rishi Kapoor's directorial venture Aa Ab Laut Chale. Ranbir was a young chap who used visit the sets of the film. Today he is romancing the beauty queen. Our major apprehension was that would Ash look much mature when pitted against Anushka when it comes romancing the Kapoor lad. But much to our surprise, Ash has not only stood her ground she has completely overshadowed Anushka! The critics might have slammed Ash not many moons ago when she appeared on the red carpet all ballooned up when she gave birth to Aaradhya. Just a couple of years later Ash manged to shut everybody' s mouth by showcasing her fit and fabulous avatar on the red carpet at the French Riviera. Who would have thought back then that Ash will be so powerful that she will almost mask the presence of much younger and vivacious Anushka Sharma. When Ash made a comeback with Jazba many thought that the world's most beautiful woman would never be cast as the main heroine in her subsequent films. (Even in Jazba the lady played a mother who goes to any length to seek justice and the safety of her child) But such is the timeless beauty of this megastar she continues to rule the screen space and makes heads turn like only she can. Blame it on her beautiful eyes, that gorgeous face and the aura this international beauty has about herself that Anushka simply pales in comparison. Now you tell us do you agree or agree to disagree?
