i mean sultan grossed 300 crores and still i dont think it helped anushka's career so much. she is a good actress but when u see that if kat and deepika movies become hits, it helped their career but anushka after pk sultan, it didn't take her to top. why?😕

What you mean by help. A huge portion of PK was Anushka offscreen listening to Aamir tell his story. I think she had a better role in Sultan.

I don't know what it is about Anushka but she started off promisingly with Rab Ne and Band Baaja Baraat, but everything for her seems to have fizzled out.

I remember a lot of people on this forum were very optimistic about her beating Deepika, Katrina etc to the top spot, stating her 2015 would be very good with Bombay Velvet, NH10 and Dil Dhadakne Do, but only NH10 helped her, that too marginally. DDD was like kiya/na kiya same thing, didn't affect her career.

The way her career has panned out post Jab Tak Hai Jaan - breaking up with Ranveer and dating Virat, lip surgery, Bombay Velvet, PK and now Sultan (probably except NH10)- hasn't really worked in her favour for some reason, or didn't really take her to the 'top actress' spot I thought she would be in by now.

I'm guessing this is because of her lack of X-factor... the special something that some people have to take them to the top. Katrina, for example, is not at par in acting with any of the top heroines but she's still at the top because of this intangible X-factor. Anushka is a better actress than Kat but doesn't have that X-factor that makes her a top actress.

Anyway, hoping I'm proved wrong and that she manages to get there soon, her upcoming project with Imtiaz/SRK and Phillauri look interesting. 👍🏼

hmm i think anushka is a very gud actress, but maybe she doesn't give off that superstar aura like katrina, deepika or even priyanka do, i can't explain it

but anyway wat matters is gud work and talent, and thats wat anushka has

Anu is like Preity Zinta. An A Lister, pretty, famous, gets then job done but never quite on top.
Anyway I like her for what she is. She is doing great.. Bagging big films, accumulating good reviews, producing movies which is huge for an actress, dating one of the most eligible bachelors. She should be content rather than running in the rats race.

Call it luck or bad luck but Anushka managed to work with all the ace directors in their weakest movies. Hence those movies did nothing for her. The movies where she worked with new directors seems to have worked better for her example; BBB,NH10 etc..

Also she doesn't have an x factor to be a diva. She'll always be around but never reach the top.
