I beg to differ. If he till date is being remembered as one of the biggest stars, then I doubt he lacks any screen presence. In fact, the craze seen for Gadar during that time... I have yet to see that for any other movie. And that was mainly because of Sunny's excellent acting and presence.

He gave solid performances in quite a few movies and has good presence. At least when he hit someone or screamed in frustration , it looked real.

Too bad that he didn't realise the importance of marketing himself and by the late 90s was against the likes of SRK and Aamir who became experts in 'playing the game'.

To take on the mantle of the angry young man from someone like Amitabh is a tough job but Sunny did that while adding his own inimitable style.

the only movie of his i liked in childhood was the one with farah khan and only because it had a too forward love making scene😎

He's angry in movies because most of his roles required him act series e.g. Gathak, Jeet, Ghayal, Border, Indian, Vishwatma and ect. The guy was known for being the angry young man in his films.

Lack screen presence? Jeet, Gathak, Border, Ghayal, Indian and ect are good examples of his screen presence.

I agree SRK overshadowed him Darr which is something that nobody can deny.

Did Salman overshadowed Sunny in Jeet? You must be joking? Sunny Deol was fantastic and outshined Salman Khan. IMO, Salman looked like a kid infront of Sunny Deol in Jeet : P

Sunny Deol was the first ever bwood actor I loved when I first discovered bwood as a kid. I ADORED him so much. No one ever understood why but there was something about him that was just so appealing to me! But his appeal for me began to wear off as we entered the 2000s.

As for his movies, I generally always enjoyed watching him. If I had to pick one, it would be Gadar. He was outstanding in the first half of the film! Good in the later part as well!
