Who else would suit in that role as much as Fawad? He has already done a royal Rajput type role, it was so obvious!

People here have been quoting him having played a Rajputi prince in Khubsoorat...LOL how is playing a suave contemporary prince the same as playing a historical one? Also, major problem in my opinion is going to Fawad's SUPER STRONG Lahori accent...now it didn't matter so much in Khubsoorat and could be overlooked cuz it was a modern day setting but I'm imagining a Rajput King talking in a Lahori accent if this casting comes to be😆

But then, Mr. SLB hardly bothered about DP's atrocious Urdu diction in Bajirao Mastani...toh yeh bhi sahi😆

I think Fawad despite his super-strong Lahori accent will make the role work for him & garner lot Of praises even if he goes agains the physical type of the character. True, the Ranas of Chittor were massively & inhumanly tall but it could also be an exaggeration? To glorify the Ranas? I think a Milind Soman would've worked much better as Ratan Singh but the fervent admirer in me is so happy to see that Fawad is going to come on-board!!!

DP was an embarrassment as Mastani & her accent was so atrocious & annoying to the ears that I really really wondered if SLB had lost his mind. HOW on earth someone as crazy & insanely passionate about his work allowed this lady to keep on her terrible accent?!! If you're playing a historical character, a person who existed in real time, you cannot have a Rajputani droning on with Urdu dialogues in a massively strong S Indian accent!! NO. JUST NO. She completely owned the part looks-wise & action-wise but the main essenceo of the character, the acting, is where DP totally lost me. The reg attitude, the believability beyond her physicality is completely missing in DP in period movies. It was even more of a delight watching PC then, because those small adaas, the casual manner her speech dipped into Marathi, it was so believable & lovely! Same goes for Veer Ofc. By the end I was just wishing DP wouldn't talk so I could keep staring at her exquisite face & jewellery & gorgeous clothes, lol.


So I hope for Fawad's sake he manages to somehow work on his Lahore accent which if he is serious on having a good
Career, which he completely seems to be, would be the best way to go about, he needs to impress SLB this once & then presumably he won't stop repeating Fawadooo in his movies, lol.



What I am very surprised by is how KJo allowed Fawad to do this movie, ESP since it's SLB.. Maybe the famous Fawad Fever was again at work on KJo. 😆


FL: Raina fits the part just physically but he isn't a good actor, but, Pandey would be a very good choice! I like him tonnes, he's so handsome, and is a good actor. His recent work as Jehangir was so good in Epic's Siyaasat. I wonder why he doesn't do shows or even movies. He's complete movie material!


Looks like it won't be Fawad, aah damn.

I was wondering, will KJo allow Fawad to work in his enemy camp? This gave me an idea. KJo and Bhansali are good to play Khilji and Ratan Singh. What can be the role for Ram Gopal Varma? 🤪

@AY- Agree with you. Fawad's accent and just his whole aura doesn't scream Ratan Singh. With that dialect , I don't know how he will manage. I don't think he could have played Khilji either because I don't frankly know how he would do a totally unrestrained larger than life and dramatic character. But he will see, because Fawad-DP fangushing , thats why SLB wants to cast them. I will look forward to the new curtains though.😆

TBH the accent problem crossed my mind as well. I love fawad's natural accent and its kinda cute😆 but cute is not what we need for this role🤔 There is a clear necessity of clean Hindi diction with a Mewari touch to it

and I can vouch for it, visited Chittor just sometime back and the people there speak the kind of lingo that was surprising even for us..its very very shuddh..

but then thats an actor's job..I love to see actors working on their accent and diction (Ranveer adapted to Marathi touch just fine for BM..) and hopefully fawad can work on it as well..

but my major problem is the kind of personality required for this role is not Fawad or Shahid or Vicky Kaushal or any of the top actors in BW right now..they just do not fit into the Prototype of Ranas of Mewar IMO

my beef will continue I guess..none of these makers realize or take the aura of Rajputs seriously..they were no strategists, but such was their persona that they were tough to take on as warriors and when people say that Khilji dint need to resort to treachery to capture Chittor..people need to first visit that fort..It is the largest fort in India..with serious solidified walls and the way it is constructed..it was supposed to be invincible for the most part...for a reason..

why just Khilji, Babur tried to take on Rana Sanga 13 times, out of which he lost 12 times in a row and only succeeded in defeating the 13th time because he had infiltrated soldiers in Sanga's army by then..treachery is what was resorted to every time to plunder Chittor..

My best bet would be Mohit Raina or Sudhanshu Pandey - Im no fan of these two - but they would really suit this role..
