Shahid says no to Padmavati, Fawad steps in - Page 11

Reports of Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan playing Deepika Padukone's husband in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati made fans go super crazy. Obviously people are dying to see these two good looking actors in a film. But for that you will have to wait a bit longer. A source exclusively told Bollywoodlife, "Fawad is extremely busy with other projects in Pakistan. Also he has signed a three film deal with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. So obviously the actor cannot break this and work with any other director. So there is no chance of him signing Bhansali's Padmavati."

Padmavati is based on the life of Rani of Chittor (played by Deepika Padukone) in Rajasthan and Alauddin Khilji's (Ranveer Singh) obsession with her. The trouble is, that although the character of Padmavati's husband Rawal Ratan Singh is an important one, he is perceived as a weaker character as he was outsmarted by Khilji. This is the reason why no big actor is willing to take up the role.

Now that Fawad is not playing the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, we wonder who will Bhansali sign as Deepika's husband. As per reports, Bhansali wants to begin work on the film from September and the first schedule will start with Deepika and her husband's character. Deepika and Ranveer's scenes will be shot separately as they never meet in the film.

I am sure the role is important. SLB's supporting characters are always meaty and usually walk away with lot of critical acclaim. I am sure with SLB's connections Shahid will win the National Award atleast in the supporting category. Shahid also recently played a soldier and has 6 pack abs so physical transformation will not be an issue for him.

As for Fawad BL is not reliable but I hope they are right this time in which case I will say Phew!😆

And yes physical transformation will be a huge problem for Fawad...He tried that during KS and look much weight he lost..

Fawad is actually more suited for a modern day prince like Khoobsurat given how classy he is.

As for the Lahori accent he needs to time to work on it. But here he lacks time. Though as an actor he is very cautious about language/delivery. I remember Niranjan Iyengar even wrote an article on it.

If we believe Ranveer has time to work on his diction then I believe even Fawad has that time...

But physical transformation especially a drastic one is something Fawad cant do I guess due to his diabetes. Height wise he would be fine too as he is the same height or taller than Ranveer.

On topic: Fawad's source has denied he has signed any BW film to a Pakistani publication. So most likely he isnt doing this film. I trust supercinema which said Shahid rather than DNA or Raghavendra.
