I too think it's funny how many of these topics there are. Could he have been #1? Debatable but he never cared to be so who cares that he didn't. He has been a very successful star for a very long time. I think some version of this question keeps popping up because expectations for him are so incredibly high; so many people don't look at how well he has done but only focus on what he hasn't (which may be why he needs the life coach ;). I also don't get the hate from people for his off screen personality - he wants you to watch his movies not his home videos - whatever you think of him personally shouldn't interfere with watching his films if he is a good enough actor to inhabit his character which he generally is. I think he genuinely IS trying to be a good person (admirable when he could behave like a rich spoiled movie star 24/7 instead). I think he wants to be a good role model but I also hear him say a lot of things I don't think he would if he were as concerned with his image as everyone assumes he is. In short, I'm a little worried about Mohenjo Daro. I'm not worried about Hrithik.

What happened to HR is Exactly what's happening to Ranbir.
Both didn't concentrate on their core strength. HR didn't capitalize on his strongest point - Dance and looks.

I don't think anything has gone wrong with him. He is just a little laid back. I think he likes it that way. The only thing that is an issue with him is that he feels he is good only at a certain kind of cinema. Like action. He is forgetting that he is the one who did MK, who did Fiza, who did Lakshya. He should come out of his comfort zone and start doing more content driven cinema like Aamir does. Like Akshaye does when he is not doing comedy. HR just needs to have trust in his abilities. He needs to decide what he wants, content or numbers. He seems stuck between the two and that effects the quality of the scripts he choses. He just needs to be more experimental.
