Because he is massy - As simple as that.. He is like how 85% of men in India are (both on and offscreen)
Do you think the men in our country give any f**k about women empowerment? Do they really respect women? I have a doubt. The uneducated ones beat wives at home. The educated ones shout at their moms for being old-fashioned and dumb. Do you really expect such men to have any better role model or favorite than Salman?

Though I wish I could tell you that you are wrong, we are not the same but I believe your anger is rightfully justified as this is our own doing. Even if some of us are wrongly painted by the same brush I believe we deserve that.

@Malika - All men are not dogs and all women are not Angels . Yes there are plenty of women abuse , but to classify 85% of them is too harsh and unreal. If this was true, this world would have ended long back.

no this isn't justified! 85% men?? Another example of how feminism has become men hating movement. Although iam a female but calling all men the same is wrong... There is no male in my family or in my acquaintance who behaves like that... You cannot judge somebody coz they watch salman khan movies.. Movies are meant for entertainment and his movies provide that and plus can be watched with whole family.. That's y he pulls the masses! And about her statement, i have seen some women who have made men's life a living hell , many insist on seperating sons ffrom their families?? What abt them haa? All women are not like that but i just want to imply that no man or woman can be perfect!

I can think of many reasons.
He was very handsome in his young days, many of us, even non fans grew up watching movies like MPK, HAHK, HDDCS,ETT multiple times. He rarely makes people uncomfortable even when romancing a heroine that a large number of his films are those you can watch with family or friends and repeatedly, There is something apne about a star whose movies you grow up with, songs you dance to even if you are not a fan like me. Salman's movies are a part of my memories even if I am not a fan.

He was way into fitness before anyone else. One of my most favorite scenes of him ever is the one handed push up in MPK. Plus he has tremendous screen presence you are always looking at him on screen so he is memorable and off screen, well he is hard to ignore 😆. But bottom line, just like Tom Cruise whose movies are never high brow, but highly entertaining and repeat watch he does mindless masala very, very well especially lately. My whole theater was laughing, clapping, dancing in the theater during Sultan. It was a happy experience, people remember that. Especially now when the world is filled with scary, scary things something that makes them happy is something people love IMO and Salman's movies lately are just that.

ETA; I grew up on Rajni movies. Kamal is who I admire as an actor and whose movies I remember because they make me think and have complex emotions. Rajni movies I cannot remember much or at all but I remember the feeling for they always made me laugh and having a good time. Rajni is huge and the BW equivalent is Salman IMO especially lately.

It's his PR who has portrayed a image of a bad boy with a golden heart and mostly misunderstood at times. It's his PR which glorifies how big hearted he is.

Yes. I do agree with you but since I do not know her situation and what she went through I feel sometimes you just need to let people let it all out eventhough it may not be entirely true. There was time where I would be very vocal that I shouldnt be painted with the same brush and believe me I always try my best to stand out and change their outlook but at the end of the day it is an uphill climb. While it is true that yes many women have ruined men and taken advantage of the situation I believe the percentage is still lower than how many men have, abused, molested, groped, teased, harrassed and made living hell of a womans life. I dont have the numbers but that is just what I believe that more men have victimised women than the opposite.

Do I feel bad? Yes. Especially being south asian it has brought disrepute. No matter which part of the world you go there is a certain stigma attached to us, desi men. Women are apprehensive to talk to us until proven otherwise. It is very hard to break the ice. There are many establishments around the world, not just in one country but many that I have been which do not patron south asian men or they frown upon because they tend to show wanton disregard to womens privacy, not taking no for an answer, forcing upon them, getting too much drunk or not respecting personal space. I see this everyday, seen this in India where toughing, groping still happens in buses and trains, seen this in thailand, seen this in uk, canada, america where desi guys tend to be quite obnoxious, seen the same in any beach places be it dubai, maldives, malaysia, mexico etc.
