Saw it...liked it...
I liked the intensity in the film...especially in the second half...

Salman was very very good more so in the second half...I think he looked a tad too old for the fluffy stuff in the first half...

Anushka was lovely...I found aarfa to be a very well written character...she has her dreams and aspirations but she dosent give up on them...she just prioritises her baby and her marriage over them at that point in her life which is her personal choice...she still trains, teaches wrestling and pursues her passion...I liked how she goes back to the state championship in the end...
She wasn't a doormat by any means...she was just someone who wanted to give her marriage a chance to evolve which dosent make anyone a doormat...
As for the conflict it made sense to me...she let go of something ambitious for him and when he dosent do the same for her, that tipped her off...then of course the consequences were disastrous so it makes sense that their relationship ceases...

Salman was particularly good in 3 scenes...the mirror one, the one at the dargah where he talks to ansuhka before he leaves to delhi and the one in the hospital where he spells out his point of view to anushka...

Also liked the lovely supporting cast...randeep, dude who plays anushka's dad, dude who plays sultan's friend, amit sadh...all good actors...

Sports films are not something I am a big fan of but I always like that underdog story. This film took the old cliche and made it entertaining. Ill admit at the end even I was crying especially when we think the worst then he opens his one eye again 😭😭😭. But Ill start from the beginning . Salman was AWESOME . I personally think a good performance is one where I like the character. Early on it was a bit same old good hearted kinda clownish muscle guy. But when it comes time to learn his aukat Sultan just changes and I dont see Salman anymore . I see this determined guy. I would say this is maybe top 5 Salman performances along with Dabangg 1 , TN , BB , MPK. Hes just getting better and better . Anushka is good also . That accent is hard to keep for 2 + hours and the fact she does without sounding annoying is great . Salmans friend is good . Randeep is all heart . I loved him . Amit Sadh also shines as some trying to prove himself . Songs are a plenty but IMHO they really fit into the narrative so they dont seem excessive. Now for my highlights . The training scenes, the mirror scene , when Anushka visits him in the hospital , shit guy 😆😆, and of course the climax. Like every film this film has issues. Sultan kinda became arrogant out of nowhere and the conflict that broke up him and Aarfa was contrived IMHO . That tragedy that struck them was just bad luck and for her to blame him was kinda irrational . This director also seems to have made his best film . Far better than Gunday and MBKD . Hope Salman works with him again if he keeps making films like this . I dont know about BO or awards but this film is one of Salmans best. An if you are a Salman fan than see it . Even if your not you should see it. It'll teach you to never give up

A 9/10 on my Maroon scale ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This movie is just a mix of Dilwale and Brothers. Its all about chasing after Anushka till the end in two different decades and fighting in between. Bakwaas movie. No head or tail. Lots of bad cgi, a statue that doesnt look like him, a scooter that suddenly changes to bike blah blah.

Story: Sultan is a nikamma who has achieved nothing in his life. One day he meets Aarfa who is a national wrestler. Sultan digs her but he has no swag to impress Aarfa who puts him down as shes out of his league. Butt hurt Sultan decides to impress her and become a wrestler. Eventually she drops her pants and get preggers.🤔

But by then Sultan has become too proud to pay attention to his ghar ki daal because he is enjoying his bahar ki murghi and has no time for his pregger wife. While he is out doing his thing Arfas baby dies because of lack of blood donation -- some blood that only Sultan has in the whole world.
So Aarfa gets butt hurt again and friendzones him. Sultan goes into depression and becomes washed up till he decides to build a blood bank. Though the problem was not the blood but Sultans dead beat attitude and lack of personal responsibility (just like his real life blaming the whole world for his problems) but still he finds a cause to live again. So he starts doing mixed martial arts to win fights and eventually to win Aarfa again.

The end.

Here is what I feel would have been better for this movie. If it had gone the Mary Kom or Ki and Ka route. Could have shown that she refused to sacrifice her career and thats where the hero steps in and supports her like in Mary Kom so that she goes on to become a successful athlete past her pregnancy. The first half could have been about Salman and then he could have paved the way for her to succeed and root for her, could have also been shown him as her trainor and supporter? But nah.

Please can I send this to people who are forcing me to watch this movie? They are outside this forum. I'll send a screenshot and give you due credit.

Worldwide box office collection: Business of 'Sultan' shows 1.8 % jump on 2nd day; Salman-starrer records highest 1st day earnings overseas

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma
Salman Khan and Anushka SharmaSultan Official Page/Twitter

The box office collection of Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer "Sultan" witnessed a jump on its second day in India. Due to partial holiday on Thursday (second day), "Sultan" raked in more than Rs. 37.20 crore, which is a 1.8 percent increase compared to its opening day.

The film minted more thanRs. 37.20 crore nett box office collections on its second day from Indian markets. Since there was partial holiday on Wednesday and Thursday, the collection got affected slightly on its opening day, as well as the second day. The two-day box office collection of "Sultan" now stands at Rs. 73.74 crore.

"#Sultan did REMARKABLE biz on Thu [Day 2]... Wed 36.54 cr, Thu 37.20 cr. Total: 73.74 cr. India biz... EXTRAORDINARY!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#Sultan had a FABULOUS Day 2... Was ROCKING from evening shows onwards... Plexes, single screens saw BIG gains... S-U-P-E-R-B... contd," he tweeted, adding: "#Sultan should comfortably cross 100 cr on Fri [Day 3], IF it maintains the same momentum... Sat + Sun biz should add to the HUGE total."

Funny Mistakes in "Sultan"

Not only India, "Sultan" had a phenomenal opening at the overseas box office as well. The opening day collection from all the countries was extraordinary, but the UAE-GCC and Pakistan box office overshadowed other countries with the first box office collection of "Sultan." Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial minted $3.04 million (Rs. 20.50 crore) from the overseas box office in just one day.

The first-day overseas box office collection of "Sultan" is the highest of this year. The Salman-starrer shattered the overseas collection records of Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan." "Fan" minted $ 2.7 million (Rs. 17.93 crore) from the two-days run, while "Sultan" minted more than in just one day.

"#Sultan Overseas: Wed $ 3.04 million [ 20.50 cr]... OUTSTANDING start... contd," Adarsh tweeted, adding: "#Sultan - Overseas - Wed [key markets]: USA & CANADA: $ 530k UAE & GCC: $ 1.40 mn UK & IRELAND: 271k Biggest Day 1 in UAE-GCC and Pakistan."

Worldwide box office

"Sultan" has grossed more than Rs. 120 crore at the worldwide box office in just two days. The two-day worldwide total of Salman-Anushka starrer is more than the lifetime worldwide box office collection of several films released this year.

"Sultan" is aiming for a Rs. 200 crore gross worldwide opening weekend total. If the film continues the momentum then it will achieve the mark even before finishing its opening weekend run.

Directed by Ali, "Sultan" was released in 5,450 screens worldwide on July 6, which was a partial holiday. The film, which is made on a budget of Rs. 90 crore, features Salman and Anushka as wrestlers, while Randeep Hooda, Kumud Mishra and Amit Sadh are the supporting actors.
