Yup people don't have to care but if they do that's fine too. My family is quite religious and cultural but as an agnostic I have had to speak out and point out the flaws in their worship many times. This became necessary for me to do because they would needlessly criticize and judge my beliefs while trying to emotionally manipulate me into joining their religious practises again. So to conclude, some of these practises may be really old but they still matter and so I care about how and why they're done.

There are 4 caliphs (Hazrat Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman and Ali) after the Holy Prophet..the order in which they SHOULD have succeeded after the Prophet is the issue between Shias and Sunnis.
