IDK how BW female superstars were before like in the 90s, but for this generation fashion is an integral part of it IMO. And there are few that do it well at an international level like Deepika. Personally speaking, she does Indo Western very well, it is not too out there most of the time that you cannot adapt it to your own life. I don't really like Deepika much or her films, but she is someone whose fashion I have followed for years and I probably know more about her red carpet appearances than her filmography 😳 😆. Three instances have directly influenced me.

Because Deepika gives the typical modern Indian girl vibe who is beautiful, strong and independent. so does Priyanka but unlike Deepika, Priyanka has the bitch vibe. So that relates to the young and independent girls(her biggest fan base).
On top of that her movies are doing well, and at the end of that day, that is all that matters.

I don't like her cos I find her fake but in her interviews and stuff she is very adorable. I don't like her acting too but she does perform instead of being completely hopeless like some actresses. And I'm so glad that a dusky Indian beauty is the number one female star of the country that many Indian girls can relate to 👍🏼 though I know not many guys like her cos they don't like her figure...so her fanbase mostly is made up of girls.
