^ This is the girl I know of and very very fond of. I hope she channelise all the negative energy into her work. Nothing works like success. Rangoon/Simran would shut every haters mouths I believe/hope. Cant wait already! I cnt wait to see her mouth gujju dialogues.😳 My bhabhi is gujju and I love hearing her talk in gujju.😳😆

Kangana Ranaut in 'Simran'

Here is the first look of 'Simran', in which Kangana Ranaut plays Praful Patel. While it's known that her character is that of aGujarati girl, we have learnt that the actress plays a housekeeper in this Hansal Mehta-directed film. The story revolves around a girl, her ambitions and how she gets addicted to the world of crime.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shailesh Singh, the movie is scripted by Apurva Asrani. The film rolls this August and will be shot in the US. Since Kangana's character is called Praful Patel, we wonder why the film is titled 'Simran'. Guess that's something Hansal is not in a hurry to reveal.

I don't think this is on one person. It may be "inspired" and they may have created a new character all together who is ambitious and desires to live bigger.

She does look cute in this black "maid" dress. :)

It would be nice if they showed a realistic portrayal of Indian immigrants who are toiling in all strata of the US society. Not everyone is an Engineer/Doctor/MBA for God sake. 😆

Indeed, Kangana and Hansal Mehta said it wouldn't be a biopic but seeing the press reports, I thought it would be inspired from it. You're rigt, they might only use the trope of the girl wanting more out of life that what she has.

The realistic portrayal in his movies is why I like Hansal Mehta's work. It's interesting to see how he'll protray Indian people in the Us. Knowing that Kangna and Rajkumar are teaming up with him is all the more exciting.

Sohum Shah to work with Kangana Ranaut?

After 'Queen', Rajkummar Rao was likely to be seen with Kangana Ranaut again in Hansal Mehta's adventure drama 'Simran', but seems the director has now changed his mind. A report states that the role that Rajkummar Rao would have played in the film will now be played by 'Ship of Theseus' actor Sohum Shah.

Rajkummar share a close bond and the two have worked together in films like 'Shahid', 'Citylights' and 'Aligarh'. It was almost certain that the filmmaker will once again choose Rajkummar Rao for his film 'Simran', but Rajkummar refused to comment on the same when he was asked about it recently. Hansal reportedly wanted a mature actor for the role and he felt that Sohum suited it better.

'Simran', with Kangana Ranaut in a lead role, will reportedly go on floor this month and will be shot in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco and Atlanta. Kangana was also reportedly seen at Regional Transport Office in Andheri last week for an international driving licence. While shooting for 'Simran', Kangana wants to explore various cities in US.
