We all know that Aamir Khan likes to do things differently. So when it came to flagging off the promotions for Dangal, kuch hatke karna to banta tha. Aamir Khan and his on-screen Dangaldaughters decided to gate crash the silver jubilee celebrations at the Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication. We can't be sure if Aamir was really gate crashing because he had a whole speech prepared on the evolution of regional cinema, but that's what we hear he did do. Co-stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra also contributed to the session. Now, whether this was a PR stunt or a coincidence is something that only Aamir can reveal. But here's proof that this happened-

Mahavir Phogat: Girls will win multiple golds in 2020

Mahavir Phogat, the wrestling coach who is the inspiration behind Aamir Khan's character in the upcoming film 'Dangal', spoke to us after Sakshi Malik's Olympic victory. Given that Sakshi too, is from Rohtak, he had plenty to say about the sporting talent coming from smaller towns. He said, "Girls are coming from smaller towns, from poor families. These girls don't even see the big cities before they actually go out to compete in big tournaments there. That is a big change, par bhed-bhaav abhi bhi hai. Kaafi hai. A few days ago, one of my girls went to Jhanwa village in Jhajjar to fight a dangal, but they refused, saying, 'Hamare yahan ladkiyon ko ladane ki parampara nahin hai.' Yeh toh Sakshi ke medal jeetne ke baad ki hi baat hai. Dekho badlav toh aaya hai, par abhi aur aana baaki hai. I am certain that girls will win multiple golds in 2020, and that is when everyone will see that they need to back the girls. Sirf 'beti bachao beti padhao' ka gaan gaane se kuch nahi hoga. Ladkiyon ko woh sammaan do jiski wo haqdaar hain. Itna achha kar rahi hain desh ke liye, kushti-boxing jaise khelon mein. Hindustan ki ladkiyon ko badhava do, toh woh kuch bhi kar sakti hain!"

Phogat's niece Vinesh participated in the Rio Olympics, while his daughters Geeta, Babita, and Ritu have all won medals in international competitions in wrestling.

Background & Story:

Aamir Khan's last film, PK, released in December 2014. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie was a blockbuster and became one of the highest grossing Hindi movies of all time. After PK released, there was a lot of speculation about Aamir's next movie. Later, he confirmed that he had signed Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal. The release date of Dangal is December 23, 2016. To look the part of a 50-year-old man, Aamir had to put on a lot of weight. However, he had only a few months to lose all of it as he had to shoot the portions of Mahavir Phogat's early life. For this, he checked into a clinic in Arizona, USA, where doctors monitored his weight loss. Dangal is based on the life of Mahavir Phogat, a wrestler from the state of Haryana. Its a well known fact to how seriously Aamir Khan takes his films. He is always seen in a different avatar and for his upcoming film Dangal he has drastically transformed himself to play the younger Mahaveer Singh Phogat.
