A few days back, Karan Johar told HT Caf that Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan, is like his "godchild". The film-maker also added that when Aryan decides to enter Bollywood, Karan will be there "professionally and emotionally" for him. Karan is elated that the youngster "is educating himself in a very prestigious university (reportedly, it's the University of California, Los Angeles)".
"We are all so proud that Aryan got into the university because of his own hard work, talent and energy. As a godparent, I feel proud of him. Both of them (he and SRK's daughter, Suhana) have grown to be bright, intelligent and responsible young kids, though Aryan isn't a child any longer. Their upbringing and mannerisms are immaculate. I am proud of the way they have turned out," he says.
On the work front, Karan's celebrity chat show, he tells us, "will be on air towards the end of the year, around September or October". He adds, "We are working out the exact dates. It will be the fifth season of the show, so we are very excited." Also, his next directorial venture " after Student Of The Year (2012) " will open this Diwali.
Ask him about the long gap between his last and his new film, and he says, "I take time [to direct movies] because there are so many films that I produce and so many aspects of a production house that I am responsible for. Now, the system at the company is in great shape. There are extremely responsible and talented people helming our affairs. So now, I can direct more frequently."
