Hmm..Ash is in a tough spot. She got married into a family with a legacy of greatness in cinema and tharkiness. Abhi is not his father's son in cinema and personal life. One is praiseworthy, the other sucks. The dude has family money and if I were to say, Aish got a faithful husband vs a husband who cheats but who is great at his job which is the typical bollywood husband. I guess the glass is half full which ever way you slice it.

Ash never imagined that Abhi's career will nose dive after their wedding.

When she married Abhi, he was on all time success spree.

Who imagined that Umrao Jaan and Ravan will tank so badly!!

Who thought that Mani Ratnam will fail in Raavan...

Would Ash have married Abhi if he had not been successful? Would she have married him today? I doubt it.

I loved how Abhi answered questions about Sarabjit premier in Bollywood Hungama interview.. Made so much sense and I did agree with him.. Media and people in general thrives on Gossips.. No one wants to hear that a couple is happy in their marriage.. A news about a crack in their marriage and it is sold like hot cakes... Pity really

Ravan's failure is Abhishek's fault more than Mani's. The Tamil version of the film which had Vikram in the lead (Abhishek's role in Hindi) was a worldwide hit. Ash played the same parts in both films. A great director can only do so much with less talent. Abhi just isn't his father though he tries hard.

Would Ash have married Abhi if he had not been successful ? I am going to yes.. Abhi is still the son of a huge BW family and by then the Bachchan family fortunes were restored, unlike when Babita made Karishma break off the engagement with Abhi soon after Shweta's marriage to her first cousin when their fortune was low. Abhi is a good looking guy, well spoken and he would have been an asset to her as a couple brand even if he had a non-BW career IMO. Being the Bachchan Bahu is nothing to scoff at IMO and Ash would have still married Abhi regardless of his career though how they would have met IDK.

It talks about 21st century but pretty orthodox in it's views.

I have number of cases close to me, where wife earns more than husband. No one's bats an eye-lid. In fact, I think these men I know are least insecure about it.

But it's the female members here who highlights this more successful thing everywhere. Why does it matter is beyond me?

Perhaps this forum just has modern outlook. No one really applies it in their life. Just modern kapde, modern fashion & modern life style. Vichaar to wahi 17th century wale hi hai sabke.

PS - not talking about you particularly Terenaina. But I have observed this 'more successful' would come up in every thread AB Jr. related.

B/c I remember some people used to pull Aish down for marrying someone like Abhi who isn't as successful and also call her a gold digger so then fans would bring up the point that she has her own legacy, etc..

But mainly b/c Indian media has asked Abhi time question a few times too. So I'm guessing that this mentality might still exist.

I think Ash is fake and a bad actress and all that but i don get what is the big deal if she is more successful than her husband? Its not just about the girl being more successful than the guy..I see similar comments for say Virat and Anushka too..That he is super successful and she is way out of his league etc. etc..I mean so what? Like someone pointed out, this is not a freaking business merger 😆
