SRK averted a major clash at the box-office when he shifted the release date of his highly-anticipated Raees to give a clean slot to Salman Khan's Sultan.
Henceforth, this Edi, on July 6, onlySultan will release at the ticket window. However, many stories have been doing the rounds as to why SRK averted theclash. Was it because of Salman's film stupendous success at the box-office or SRK's last film's mediocre business? While many termed it a ticket-window battle, some said it's because of SRK-Salman's new found friendship.
Amidst the speculations, SRK finally broke his silence as to what and how and why's were the reasons behind shifting Raees release. In an interview with a leading news channel, SRK was asked about Raees' release date getting pushed and the actor said, "While shooting the film, I was injured. It got delayed by 8-9 months. Then we did action but a few pieces were still left to be canned. We have completed it now but I felt due to my injury they didn't come out the way I wanted. It's over now. It was so rushed so we took a decision."
King Khan then went on to add that he thought clashing with Salman was not a good idea given their friendship. "Then Sultan was ready for release along with Raees. Two big films on the same day... they are friends too. So we all decided that if you are completely ready, we can accommodate. Not getting a free date because you have to announce beforehand which is something I never do. When it is ready, we will announce. Jan 26 is what we have decided on now... the film is complete though," revealed SRK.
Well, the reasons are completely justified and indeed, a good decison by King Khan.
