Someone made a comment about this on TheBoss's recent thread. Got my brain churning and the parallels are uncanny 😲

1. Anil Kapoor's character comes from nothing makes this big legacy for himself.

2. Cheats on his wife aka Rekha factor

3. Wife silently accepts it, puts on a front for the children and public, but in private the relationship is cracked and she's not happy

4. Son isn't as great as his father and better at other things--> a lot of pressure

5. Daughter married away at a young age and maybe her ambitions and feelings aren't consider--> she chooses to get a divorce and met with parents not approving (they all were visibly not pleased with each other at the NA) also the rumors that Nanda is a closeted homosexual but comes from a respected family

6. Maybe HR is the equivalent to Shweta what Farhan was for PC? (Not so sure about this tho)--> but they were childhood friends na?

And obviously there is other stuff that's not related, but I mean they do put up with this public front and image, which makes me think it's not as happy as they portray themselves to be. Also I was bored at work, so maybe I'm over-analyzing this 😆😆

Wow.Did not think like that.

Another similarity .Anil Kapoor was on the verge of being bankrupt in the film .Amitabh too went through similar phase back in early 2000s.

I don't think its based on Bachchans...
Mehra family is common in richi rich people...
They all have similar fake families, false pride and crumbling finances...

BigB is much more famous and successful than Anil's character in DDD. Their couple life can be like what was shown...

I can totally believe in bedroom AB praising Jaya and Jaya saying " acting kyu kar rahe ho, no one is watching"🤣

And Kabir's failed arranged match (who was in love with Vikrant Massey's character) is similar to Abhi-Karishma. Kabir falls for Anu's character and Abhi seems happily married to Aish. 😆😆

Actually now that I think abt it, you maybe right! 😲

There are some similarities, particularly PC, the daughter's crumbling marriage, the son's inability to live up to his father's expectations, Anil Kapoor's bankruptcy, his habitual tharkiness and cheating on his wife.

But one thing is for sure, Amitabh would never have spent a fortune to take his family and friends on a Mediterranean cruise at any time. Hes a well known miser! 😆

In his heyday, he was called Uncle Scrooge because he never ever threw success parties or any celebrations at his home like the other stars did in those days.

Ranveers angle is very very common. In almost all households even Sid had a similar angle in KAS.

If Abhishek didn't want to be in Bollywood he would've left long time ago. He's been here since 2000, and is still getting work apparently. All other failed star sons gave up but Abhishek and Tushar are really adamant about working in the industry even if they are side heroes in a multi starrer

There are many family's similar to mehra's in terms of lifestyle

Anil was having affair with many women and was also flirting openly in front of his wife. Haven't heard any of amitabh's affair except with rekha. Ranveer's character doesn't resemble abhishek much either. Abhi has shown interest in acting and his marriage was also approved by his family. And also film came almost 1 year back and report of shweta- hrithik affair have hit headlines few months before only so priyanka's character also doesn't bear much resemblance to shweta.

DDD was more of a take on superficiality of upper classes and their conflicts which require delicate handling as their reputation in front of outer world is more important than their family.
