What kind of logic is that.
Also better done than said.

I guess that means Ranveer's range as an actor is larger than RK
in other words : RS can do variety of roles including RK's characters
but RK excels in ONE genre .
so RS is better performer

Can I imagine Ranbir doing a Bajirao with such ease? NO ..Why? because given his body of work and versitality I cannot fathom him being a Warrior .neither does he have that persona nor the malleability.
Nobody is denying him of his talents.

Can I imagine Ranveer doing a deaf and mute with ease ?YES .Given his dedication and malleability .Yes. His acting in every movie have been different where he has changed his body language to accents.

Yes better done than said. The day Ranbir does Bajirao with ease like Ranveer then we can easily compare and talk.

So Ranveer's performance as Bajirao is better than Ranbir 's performance as Barfi because Ranveer can hypothetically play Barfi, but Ranbir needs to play Bajirao first with ease like Ranveer, for his Barfi to be better than Ranveer's performance as Bajirao.
Yeab mate.
So Ranveer doing changes to his body language and mannerisms is genuis, while Ranbir making Barfi believable and without making a clinched dumb and deaf character is very good but not so impressive because Ranveer can hypothetically can be a dumb and deaf.

So Ranveer working on his accents is marvelous but Ranbir able to convey so much without able to utter a word is very good but not so impressive because Ranveer can hypothetically can be a dumb and deaf.

Thank you.

Everything about lunatic bajirao was just worst and Ranveer made him look like a clown. Thank God they didn't give him national award for that pathetic bajirao.

Rabir is any day day better actor than Ranveer or any other current generation actor. But his recent film choice sucks is another thing.

No, Ranveer can't pull barfi, he would have ruined it to make himself look more cool and clown. There is a reason audience were sleeping while watching lootera, it became a flop and barfi got a well deserved success. 😆

No, Ranbir can't pull Bajirao becoz he is just worst in clownish role eg. Besharam but given a chance he might have created his own bajirao which would have looked less joker and more warrior.

Just because someone goes under huge physical transformation or does impressive work on accents does not mean he/she does not give varied and versatile performance.

Ranbir 's Jordan is very different from his Barfi, his Rocket Singh is very different from his Sid, his Ved is very different from his Samar, his Bunny is very different from his Prem.
None of the above characters have same similar apart from being played By Ranbir.

Not seen Bajirao but for the sheer difficulty of performing a character like Barfi, bringing to it charm, ethos, pathos credibility over and beyond what one would think was possible is a feat not many could perform.
For a man about town, playboy, etc etc. which Ranbir is known as, to play such a sweet good character and draw in people, root for Barfi the way people did, is a mark of greatness of talent.

Ranbir in barfi hands down beats the performances of majority of the actors of his genre and a few of his seniors too...

Again.Buddy you are missing the point .
If talking hypothetically any situation is possible. Ranveer doing Barfi better and Ranbir doing Bajirao better.

But your initial comment was let the action do the talking so why can't Ranveer do it better was my point.

Okay, I got it now.
But my point was not that, my point was just because Ranveer can do Barfi better hypothetically means his Bajirao is better than Ranbir 's Barfi.

While same logic will not look out of place if we were overall comparing them as actors, but here we are comparing just two brilliant characters done by these brilliant actors. So that point in this convo is moot IMHO.

If the comparison is between Ranbir as Barfi and Ranveer as Bajirao, Ranbir wins it for me
Doesn't matter that I cant see ranbir doing a Bajirao but can probably imagine Ranveer pulling off a Barfi in his own way. Their capabilities and range of acting would come into play when one is discussing them as actors overall, when the comparison is Ranbir vs ranveer
But when it's Ranbir as Barfi vs Ranveer as Bajirao; specific characters they have already portrayed for all to see, I dont see why hypothetical situations should come into play

Well, I never imagined a very young Ranbir as stealing the thunder from under veterans Manoj Bajpai, Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal and the rest in a film. Raajneeti did just that. He didn't hv to tower over others, hold a sword, or wave a gun , shout some heavy duty dialogue to appear the absolutely ruthless when needed character he played in Raajneeti. His body language, his restraint, the inflections he used when delivering his dialogues, and the look in his eyes...his character screamed sinister. That is the mark of a great actor, one with talent born, not acquired.

That Ranveer already HAD the physical appearance to do his warrior role in Baajirao is actually minus points when u compare the rake, playboy, suave , metropolitan image Ranbir had, going into doing the sweet, small town hill station, motherless, mute boy in Barfi.

Don't you agree?
