Very hard b/c I love both as actors & Barfi was a superb performance by Ranbir , but I'll have to give it to Veer as Baaji. There was not a single note that was insincere or unconvincing in his performance or in Baaji. His Marathi accent was fabulous & his sword work was on-point, his hard work & dedication just shone through!!! He elevated the movie to a very very high level along with PC who was super as well! 👏 ⭐️

I can see Ranveer pulling off a Barfi but I can't imagine Biru playing Bajirao.

I like Ranveer more and think they've both done better performances and enacted better roles than this...but if I hve to choose..it'll hve to be Ranbir/Barfi..couldn't stand Ranveer as Baji.

surprising to see ranbir win against ranveer..I haven't seen BM so can't say.

But I would like to say one thing - I know many think ranveer is a more versatile actor of the two but is it only because he can look the part?because lootera is one performance where he faltered..his voice modulation was criticized and even generally he can have a tendency to overact..gunday for example. So could he have done that heartbreak scene in barfi as well as ranbir without overacting?Could he have lent the pure heartedness/innocence to barfi as well as ranbir did?

TBH, they both did equally well. Ranbir gets a point more simply because, his character is mute. It's difficult to convey without words and proper diction. So for me, Barfi>Bajirao>Ved/Don. But Bajirao sticks well because of the character and the way the story was told. And Ranveer carried the character very convincingly. Barfi is a very good movie, but there are lot of holes. Bajirao's story holes were covered by other things like sets, costumes.

So Ranveer could hypothetically do Barfi hence his Bajirao is better???? 😆
What kind of logic is that.
Also better done than said.

Barfi touched my heart. It is one of the landmark performances of Indian cinema for me and for it to be so it was because of the heavily under rated PC's Jhilmil

Ranbir for me for the same reason. SLB's screenplay let down all three performances, whereas Anurag Basu only elevated Ranbir, PC, and Ileana.

Barfi for me, because prior to that I did not think much of Ranbir...I despised him during the time when everyone was fawning over him in Saawariya😆 Barfi, however, made me an "unwilling" fan of Ranbir, so much so that I saw Rocket Singh and YJHD because of him. Rockstar I tried, but I couldn't even last a few minutes😆

And his recent work makes it easy for me to not care about him at all...but if he ends up doing good work...then I'm going to have the same problem with the boys that I already have for the girls (liking multiple top actresses at once😆)

Why not? Hypothetically a lot of things have been said about lot of actors.

Can I imagine Ranbir doing a Bajirao with such ease? NO ..Why? because given his body of work and versitality I cannot fathom him being a Warrior .neither does he have that persona nor the malleability.
Nobody is denying him of his talents.

Can I imagine Ranveer doing a deaf and mute with ease ?YES .Given his dedication and malleability .Yes. His acting in every movie have been different where he has changed his body language to accents.

Yes better done than said. The day Ranbir does Bajirao with ease like Ranveer then we can easily compare and talk.
