But unfortunately, Deepika still wins this no matter how many national awards Kangu gets, be it in terms of endorsements , films, popularity or even high profile affairs Deepika beats kangu's ass every single time.

Lastly, it's easy and convenient to say that actresses don't need big actors to survive but how many actresses survive in the long run without big films and male actors favoring them ? This is Bollywood for gods sake, that too were women have a low shelf life. History is evident that how since decades , be it Mashubala, Nargis, Hema, Rekha, Sridevi, Madhiri, Kajol, Kareena, Katrina and now Deepika are all favorites of all time not because they worked in national award winning films but because they stayed relevant due to their big contacts and ability to survive with the conniving and dominating make brigade and yeah all these actresses had high profile affairs with big male stars too.

If kangna can survive then it's good otherwise it's a stretch when people say that she doesn't need big stars and big films , and no she's not the top heroine, Deepika, Katrina and Kareena still beats her.

Ugh! It's not even a battle between Kangna and Deepika or whoever...
Kangna made it without starring with big names ; she can substain while doing the same thing after all, as long as the movie is good and well-budgeted what is stopping it from succeeding. Two of her three next releases are female oriented. And she has a predominant role in Rangoon (which used to be named Julia -after the character she plays.)

Sonam's biggest success in terms of ROI is Neerja. Deepika (Piku), Priyanka (Mary Kom, Fashion, 7 Khoon Maaf), Sonam (Raanjhanaa, Aisha, Neerja) and Anushka (NH10) won big with female oriented movies not on financial terms only but critically too. They were also able to fully reap what they sow.
The fact that women-oriented movies are the rage now is good for female actors...

I don't care if Kangna doesn't end up being the most popular actress out there. The fact that I enjoy watching her on screen is enough for me. Her awards are a bonus that also ensure that her name won't be forgotten and that directors will take notice. 3 NA before 30 is quite an achievment in itself I would say...
Well now Kangna join the big league too concerning high profile affairs seeing as her name will always be linked to Hrithik's after all this fiasco😆

I won't go back to defining what a top heroine in. I have never said that Kangna was THE top heroine btw.

Anyways, the bottom line for me is not how much successful someone is...I want to know how they behave when they get to the top...How they respect other people who have become successful...Because only those who are successful know that the journey to the top is not simple and easy no matter which way you take to go there...If you forget where you came from, very soon you will go back to that place...By repeatedly undermining her contemporaries and their growth, she is only exposing her own sad mindset...No matter how much her fans love her for speaking her mind and not 'sugar quoting' even if it reeks of jealousy and self pity, I personally cannot like her for putting other people down...

It's because in Bwood they have the tendancy to typecast people. But for me her roles weren't the same. In Gangster she was more melancolic, in Fashion she was an arrogant druggy, in Woh Lahme she was suffering from mental problems...

Yes I understand but me I only want to see them in movies. I don't care about their personnal life. Celebs have a personna created so we can never know if they are genuine or not anyways.

We can never know if someone is genuine or not but we can get a peak into their work ethic and mindset with the kind of statements they make and with the way they treat others...I am not a fan of Deepkia but I am yet to see her giving any kind of statements about Kangana...Please prove me wrong if I am misinformed here...

@bold:Nice to find some common ground in all this...Because even to me their personal lives don't matter which is why I will perhaps continue to watch KR even though she did something spiteful to someone very close to me by making such a twisted and misdirecting headline about Aspergers...

I wouldn't take Deepika as an example seeing as seems to have or have had problems with other actresses even though she hasn't talked ill of them publicly. And it seems that Kangna only has a problem with Deepika so I don't know what's up with that but I don't think Deepika is snow white in this matter.

Indeed, it was wrong of them to thrown in Asperger or any other illness in the mix. Hrithik shouldn't have repeated what was said in private if he couldn't verify the truth behind this and Kangna shouldn't have made that up. Then again, she did say that she mentionned Asperger to Hrithik during a dinner because it was what the character -she was to play in Reema Kagti's movie Mr Chalu- was suffering from.

All this matter is such a mess...

I'll keep on watching HR's movies too ; the guy is handsome and his movies nice.

She is talented so interesting directors would still want to work with her. Hansal Mehta is supporting her, so is Anand L Rai... Btw, directors are kinda excentrics so they'll look at her craft instead at her personnal life and it seems to be the time for female oriented roles so she basically doesn't need a male A-lister to stay afloat. All she needs is commercial or critical success which she may gets with Rangoon, Simran and Rani of Jhansi.

I don't think mainstream Bollywood dislikes her ; and is there still such a thing as a mainstream Bollywood? Everyone seem to mix up because the commercial crowd wants critical success and vice versa. She's been praised a lot and note that people from Bollywood mainly stayed away from commenting this issue. Maybe they don't want to choose sides or they don't care because worse happen behind the scenes.

Having a few handful of unknown directors who are neither A listers nor are the part of big budget team are working with Kangana who are the part of mainstream Bollywood. National award does not guarantee that she will have long career. In art and so called pseudo intellectual movie makers may get good actors from theater and Kangana may get replaced one day. Only reason Kangana's movie works because script and nothing else. For your reference Katii Batti. After this incident I doubt any would like to risk their reputation by working with a collegue who would not think twice before bad mouthing him/her.Today in national awards you should have seen the pure look of discomfort on Amitabh Bachchan's face, when Kangana sat next to him.
Even Saif and Shahid may not work with her after this incident. They are married men after all and Kangana has always created controversy by dragging committed men. She is way to delusional to consider herself a superstar. Even the so called Khans do not live in such delusion. One day her arrogance will lead her such a downfall where she will find no support as she bad mouths everyone including her family.

Like I said, she is at most a Shabana Azmi ( I am being really generous here, for KR is yet to do even a percentage of the body of word that Shabana has)of this generation...Lots of critical acclaim and National awards with zero commercial viability...

And I don't understand why she is so full of herself when most of the roles she played so far are all somewhat similar roles...Where is the variety in the characters that she chooses...Most of them seem to be taken from the same book...

Shabana Azmi is way to talented than Kangana.

All the characters played by Kangana looks similar.

Her character all about mental women, stupid woman, arrogant women, playful, evil and unmoral women.

I never saw her play sweet women, good doter, good wife, good gf and more. Nowadays, people love someone play bad character compare to good human being.
