But you do think her knowing Hindi is exceptional since she is a Tulu...my point is that it is not...especially not in Mumbai

Her being a South Indian, and learning not just Hindi, but Punjabi and Bengali is applaud worthy.. when she only speaks either Tulu or English at home.

Her learning some Punjabi, Bengali and Tamil for movies is commendable but there is nothing applaud worthy in her knowing Hindi IMO...even her Marathi is not fluent...she is only truly fluent in Hindi, English and Tulu. Punjabi btw is so easy for any Hindi speaker to grasp and speak especially after the barrage of Punjabi thrown our way through Bwood.

P.S. Gujarati is another such language like Marathi which Mumbaikars are highly exposed to...so that is another language which Mumbai people can understand easily. Not with reference to Ash here but a general observation

Yes, its become a fashion trend for BW to insult hindi forgetting the very basic that they CHOSE to work in "HINDI" movies. Shame on them. Respect the field you are earning your fame and money from.
Its NO big deal to speak Hindi and besides Aish was into modeling hindi advs and beauty contests. Aish is such a pretentious person, highly annoying.
BTW English is also NOT her mother tongue!😉😆😆

RIcha Sharma is going the senseless jabber way. She got some fame and now she is hell bent on ruining it. Richa is going to dig her grave soon

FYI: The court observed, "Normally, in India, majority of the people have accepted Hindi as a national language and many people speak Hindi and write in Devanagari script but there is nothing on record to suggest that any provision has been made or order issued declaring Hindi as a national language of the country."

Even if it is not OFFICIALLY declared as a national language, most of the country considers it as a national language and most of the country knows hindi even if they cannot talk or read or write it, they know there is a language called Hindi even if they don't know Tulu, Kannada, Tamil, Telegu, etc.
I said is a national language based on this, not because it is written on record and same goes in regards to Hindi not being taught in every school down south, I didn't go to every school here to find that out but generally in state syllabus, ICSE, CBSE, etc etc all have Hindi as a mandatory secondary language upto 10th grade.

Arre woh...White lie hain...I can't speak Tulu...my family is full of inter community marriages...Sindhis, Punjabis, Bengalis, Sikhs, Marathis, Malayalis, Tamils...we are totally pan Indian and so can converse in Hindi or English only😆

My Dad and his sibs...all born in Mumbai speak better Hindi than Tulu...also yeah the hundreds of Tulus I know from Mumbai are also a reference point. For me Hindi is my first language...dunno Tulu except for encha ullar all because my Dad is more comfortable with Hindi than Tulu and so forgot to teach us😳

That's exactly Richa's point. Despite not being a native Hindi speaker she is so good with her Punjabi. And why is it a problem if Ash is applauded for it? You don't applaud.. no issues. But let people do so if they feel it deserves to be commended. Just like Kangana was for her Haryanvi accent when she is actually a north Indian too.
