Rani's performance in Black is one of the best performances in Indian cinema. Period.

I do believe Kajol has the talent to do it, but she has never been one to take risks like Rani so we will never know.

Rani was marvellous in Black. Kajol definitely has d capability, but either she got never offered such roles or she refused them. As an actor i find Kajol superior to Rani.

Kajol is a very limited actress so it's obvious who is the winner here. It's a shame cause I do think she always had/has the potential to do more varied roles

Rani is better actress than kajol. Rani acts naturally and with ease but kajol struggles.

Rani's performance in Black was the best and Kajol's performance in Dushman was the best.

The problem with kajol is she never got a chance to do different roles except for Dushman.

I guess it's important for me to start off my saying that I'm expressing my views keeping my fandom for Rani aside. Rani was phenomenal in Black and none of Kajol's performances can match up to Rani's one Black. Black did receive a lot of mixed opinions, but I don't think anyone can rely deny that acting wise Rani and Ayesha were fabulous. It was an extremely tough role to play. It's not easy getting into the character of a blind and deaf girl.

Kajol had some really good performances in the early 90s. But Rani has truly excelled her in many ways. She's done many more versatile roles and has played each role with such ease.

Rani's performance in Black was her career best alongside Yuva. By default its way better performance than any of her contemporaries or current generation actresses. So against such a weak actress like Kajol, Rani would definitely win. Kajol tried some acting in Fanaa as a blind. But it came across as fake with her dancing and all. Oh well. If we can have Rani of that phase now, I can bet she will rule the scene. One of the best actresses Indian Cinema had ever produced👏
