Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder... always. Secondly, it depends on perspective. Obviously there's something about her that despite the limited projects she's done, she's garnered so much fame. Most people here have probably only seen Humsafar of hers and are basing her acting credibilities off of that. I myself despite being a fan, never rated her as the best of Pakistan because she definitely needed improvement, which eventually did happen. If you watch her in Sadqay Tumhare or Bin Roye she's improved by leaps and bounds... I now firmly believe that she's immensely talented and should continue to get more opportunities because she definitely has it in her. Also, I don't find it fair to say that there's others more deserving than her. Yes luck counts and Mahira has been lucky, but at the same time so do handwork and effort. She's not stealing anyones chance, she's simply getting hers. Working with SRK no matter how big or small the role is for a Pakistani is a big deal. And contrary to popular belief she didn't get the role based on her white skin colour. She auditioned for it, the director liked what he saw and chose her, simple. At the end of the day the majority that likes her isn't crazy to do so. She has the screen presence, the talent and the charm. For those who don't see it, that's completely their opinion and should be respected.
