What a fantastic interview. He's so spot on about the media. Forget the tabloids, those people don't give a f about the levels they are stooping to but even an accidents like the one that happened in Kolkata are now treated the way the tabloid journalists treat their stories. So called "reputed" journalists don't give a damn about the actual news. All they care about these days is their celebrity status so they will shout and scream on the top of their lungs to show how "fantastic" they are being while presenting news while all they are doing is brushing aside the basic ethos of journalism.
Shahrukh is probably one of the few actors out there who doesn't shy away from speaking about his limitations as an actor. Anyone who has followed the guy closely would know it ain't the first time he has talked about it. He talked about how he just has "five expressions" even in the interviews he did back in the early 90s. People often call him arrogant and pompous but like I said a fan who has followed the guy for awhile now would know that's so not true. Can he be pompous? Hell yeah. He is capable of giving statements that will make many think he is but a lot of it is just false bravado that he himself has acknowledged in many interviews. He has talked about how if he doesn't believe in his ability then nobody will. But I can see as to how that can be misinterpreted. I frankly don't agree with his criticism of his acting. He's one of the finest actors out there. One of the most spontaneous actors out there. The guy has given some terrific performances over the course of these 25 years, has made his mark in almost every genre out there. Very much looking forward to not only FAN but all his upcoming releases.
