It was a very interesting read indeed. However I cannot reconcile him saying he cannot worry about making his fans of 25 years happy with him doing films like Dilwale and HNY. My personal opinion and observation but I think his so called humility is more a result of him knowing his plans with Dilwale backfired rather than him actually being humble. I'm just not sure of his sincerity here. Had Dilwale broken records this probably would have been a very different interview.

Dilwale did actually break records. Considering the "flop" is the second highest grossing movie of the year , I'd say the movie did darn well. It's just that it didn't do as well in India as expected. Now coming to his reaction , one of the first things he said after CE broke all the records out there was that soon another film will come along that will break CE's record. So he was just as self aware then as he's being now. By stating he can't please everyone , he ain't stating something that is out of the ordinary. His endeavour is obviously to please the audience through his work but he also realizes that he perhaps can't please everyone, that's not false humility , that is just stating things as they are. Even after CE , people were cribbing about him not doing meaningful cinema...blah...blah so it's not like a blockbuster would stop anyone from criticizing him. Some of the people are now talking about how Dilwale's so called "failure" at the BO has forced him to sign movies that are high on content , not once realizing he singed FAN and Raees way before Dilwale even released so I guess what I'm trying to say is this ain't false modesty. It's just called being self aware, although I personally happen to disagree with some of his own critique about his acting.

So out of the whole interview some people can only look at the points about his movies ( even those points stands true ) when there are other important things he mentioned which are spot on😕...as he said already he can't please everyone 😳
