A lot of details have been surfacing about actress Pratyusha Banerjee who died earlier this month and her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. This time her maid, Renu Sinha has spoken about the abusive relationship that the Balika Vadhu star was in.

Despite a substantial bank balance Pratyusha had to borrow small amounts of money from Sinha for cab fare and medicines because Rahul was handling all the finances, Sinha told a leading daily.

Sinha worked for the couple for three months and was living in the same house. "At odd hours in the night, I used to hear raised voices from the couple's room. I wanted to rescue Pratyusha but didn't know if it was right to interfere in a private matter between them. Whenever Rahul left home, I would coax Pratyusha into telling me everything. She spoke of Rahul accusing her of having an affair with her former boyfriend," Sinha told the daily.

She added that Pratyusha was not willing to break off the relationship with Rahul, afraid of tarnishing the image of her middle-class family from Jamshedpur. Sinha said that time and again she requested the ex-Bigg Boss contestant to take charge of her finances, but she refused for some reason.

Rahul Raj Singh has been booked by Mumbai Police on abetment charges. He is still hospitalised and is reportedly in depression over the whole incident.

Sinha said that Rahul's ex-girlfriend used to barge into the house and abuse the couple. She said she saw bruise marks on Pratyusha many times. Pratyusha also learnt about Rahul's past and his previous marriage. "He wouldn't let her do things she loved, like eating out and watching movies. He kept postponing plans to tie the knot with her," said Sinha.
