Great topic for discussion Kinza...I may not be the greatest fan of SRK but for me his best works till date will be Swades and Chak de..he did not die in these movies.. There wasn't that kind of tragedy in these but they were underlined with an hint of tragedy.. .In Swades I remember that scene where Mohan travels to a village to meet a farmer to recover a debt. On the train he buys water from an urchin. This guy who drank only bottled water drinks water from this dirty cup..with it he washes down the barriers inside him. Mohan Bhargav so used to the comforts of the west finds a meaning to his own life in the tragedy of his homeland. His life till then was full of comforts but it was not fulfilling..That trip changes the whole direction of his life.. Also Chak de.. This guy shunned by the society, called a traitor.. Life becomes a big tragedy for him the minute he misses that last goal. But he chooses to rise above it.. The scene when India wins the cup and Kabir stumbles back against the wall the shame he was forced to feel by people around him until then, the suffering he went through all those years suddenly lifting away from his shoulders... So well acted by SRK...

SRK is according to me a directors actor.. If the director can keep him

grounded while acting SRK just kills it. When Sharukhism takes a backseat the real Sharukh emerges...
