I also would like to know IF Neerja movie was flopped would Nupur maam have come and told about the real facts of Neerja.

Undeserved adulation and It was Astrid, Sherene, Sunshine and off course Massey who were the real heroes of the day.

It's common sense that if plane was hijacked people would not sit inside like statues for 16-17 years. They might have tried something to protect themselves and others. If you go and ask every person who was present there, all would have different story to say. Something was happening in every corner of the plane but you can't cover it in a 2 hour movie. Even if they make a general film on plane, still it's not possible to cover everything, they have to skip something. Even pilot was a hero, he didn't take much time to run away as soon as he came to know about hijack and he even destroyed few parts of the plane so that they can't even move the plan. Make a movie on pilot too.

I can understand if she wanted credit for others too, but Neerja doesn't deserves this is too much. Why would indian and Pakistan government give her award if she was not deserving? Not like this incident happened just yesterday, it's been 30 years, what was she doing from last 30 years? Why didn't she raise her voice when undeserving Neerja was presented with Ashok Chakra? Now, when her film is in cinema halls, here she comes to talk about Soul of Neerja. Everyone knows what soul of Neerja must be thinking. Do they have any instrument to talk with aatma? These people should stop making mockery of Neerja's soul and talk directly without using 'Neerja's soul'. Let her rest in peace.

If she has any point, come out and speak, so that Bhanot brothers and other people who were present in plan can answer her back. Playing hide and seek on Facebook and Twitter is known as 2 Min fame antics. With such posts she is putting seed of doubt in mind of people, tomorrow people would start believing that Neerja was sitting in one corner of the plane, bullet came from air and she died.

There is an interview of a lady who was in plane, she said it was Neerja's presence of mind which saved them, she immediately informed pilot. I guess someone posted interview of a kid who was saved by Neerja that he owes his life to Neerja. Neerja had chance to get out of plane but she stayed for others. Everyone is a liar and she is only right.

I applauded her for staying in plane for so long but she should stop all these attention seeking antics. If she has any valid point, come out of Facebook and speak it loudly without taking help of Neerja's soul otherwise shut up.

If she is hurt that only Neerja's story was there in film and rest were ignored, go to some director and producer and talk about making a film. You can't expect from a film who's title is 'Neerja' to cover every story.

Just an example.. In the Movie Mangal Pandey, the story was about him and him alone but when they showed the commencement of War of independence, a scene featuring other ppl willing to be a part of the war was shown too with names.. Perhaps acknowleding others bravery in this case with names would have been a good idea.. no need for background story but just their role during hijack? That doesn't seem to be asking too much, right?

Have you watched the movie? Coz if you have, you'll relalize that even others were shown to be very brave. They were very co-operative at every step. Neerja alone couldn't have been able to successfully rescue the passengers without the help of her colleagues. Even during the climax, the rest of the crew continues to evacuate the passengers first, instead of jumping off the plane. Neerja wasn't shown to be a super woman or is given some 'Undeserved adulation' as this post mentions. The movie is a tribute to the brave young woman in the most beautiful way possible.

Also, when she says 'Undeserved adulation', it looks like she feels even the Bravery awards, documentries and even Asoka Chakra fall in the same category and not just this movie, coz this movie showed the story that has been known since a long time, that people read in papers and books. This movie shows nothing that wasn't read or heard before.

Like I said in the other post, its really sad to see these survivors clamoring for recognition and being bitter about someone else's recognition...After what they have all been through, it doesn't really suit them to be complaining about such frivolous things...Obviously by no means the movie implies that Neerja did everything singlehandedly...There must be other crew members and passengers who were equally courageous on that fateful flight who made sure that the hijack failed...Neerja is just one of the many stories that can be told from that incident...
