Really? I remember reading the same years ago. @Bold - That is horrifyingðŸ˜
One of the passengers mentioned this is not true, but the rest seems accurate. If you check US justice document and type Neerja in search you will read about a mother who shielded her daughter from the bullets.
Everyone suffered but Neerja DIED and can never be back. I dunno about others but I sympathize with Neerja Bhanot the most. Though all others were amazing also. It must have been impossible to help the passengers escape by just one woman, Neerja, doing all work. They all were incredible but my heart cries for Neerja's lost life and what depressing impact it left on her family who loved her so much. Here is from court proceedings how everyone suffered and showed courage
Several of the flight attendants who sawwhat was happening communicated with thecockpit crew, sending a "hijack" code overthe telephone intercom. As a result of thiswarning, the pilot, co-pilot and flightengineer all followed Pan Am's standardoperating procedure and exited the cockpitusing emergency ropes before any hijackercould reach the cockpit to commandeer the flightThroughout the day, Safarini used Sunshine, and later another flight attendant namedSherene, as a human shield, with his armaround each one's neck, as he moved aboutthe cabin.Fearing that the hijackers would be mostinterested in targeting American citizens forbrutal treatment, the flight attendants, risking their own lives, deliberately refusedto accept United States passports from somepassengers and hid several United Statespassports under seat cushions. After thepassports were collected, defendant Safariniordered the flight attendants to separate theAmerican passports from the others andbring the American passports to him. Hebecame visibly distraught after the onlyUnited States passports he receivedbelonged to passengers of Indian orPakistani origin or ancestry.By the evening of September 5th, theinterior of the aircraft had becomeuncomfortably warm. Pan Am employee Meherjee Kharas told defendant Safarinithat the auxiliary power unit would soonfail. This meant that the lighting, circulationand other aircraft systems would shut downas daylight faded into night. The lights onthe aircraft began to flicker, indicating theapproaching final power loss.Defendant Safarini ordered Mr. Kharas andflight attendant Sherene Pavan out of thecockpit area and escorted them, along with afew other hostages who had been seated inthe business class section, back into the twoeconomy class sections where all theremaining hostages were compressed by thehijackers. People were pressed literally ontop of each other in seats and seated in theaisles. As the bullets and grenades flew, Neerja Bhanot, as well as other flight attendantsand passengers, heroically managed to forceopen two exits in the economy section. The opening of the rear exit triggeredinflation of the emergency slide, but theopening of the exit over the wing did nottrigger the inflation of a second emergencyslide.
Hmm.. it's a teamwork. I can understand her disappointment. The movie showed the crew members suffering though. Here is from court proceedings how everyone suffered and showed courage

Maybe the movie only wanted to focus on Neerja mostly, as they made it for Neerja's family.
The team's effort was shown also but just their names were not said, their background story etc was not shown like Neerja's was.
Yes it would have. The movie itself was just 2 hours long, the director could have done incorporated parts of others' bravery also
Just an example.. In the Movie Mangal Pandey, the story was about him and him alone but when they showed the commencement of War of independence, a scene featuring other ppl willing to be a part of the war was shown too with names.. Perhaps acknowleding others bravery in this case with names would have been a good idea.. no need for background story but just their role during hijack? That doesn't seem to be asking too much, right?
