Here is from court proceedings how everyone suffered and showed courage
Several of the flight attendants who saw
what was happening communicated with the
cockpit crew, sending a "hijack" code over
the telephone intercom. As a result of this
warning, the pilot, co-pilot and flight
engineer all followed Pan Am's standard
operating procedure and exited the cockpit
using emergency ropes before any hijacker
could reach the cockpit to commandeer the flight

Throughout the day, Safarini used Sunshine,
and later another flight attendant named
Sherene, as a human shield, with his arm
around each one's neck, as he moved about
the cabin.

Fearing that the hijackers would be most
interested in targeting American citizens for
brutal treatment, the flight attendants,
risking their own lives, deliberately refused
to accept United States passports from some
passengers and hid several United States
passports under seat cushions. After the
passports were collected, defendant Safarini
ordered the flight attendants to separate the
American passports from the others and
bring the American passports to him. He
became visibly distraught after the only
United States passports he received
belonged to passengers of Indian or
Pakistani origin or ancestry.

By the evening of September 5th, the
interior of the aircraft had become
uncomfortably warm. Pan Am employee Meherjee Kharas told defendant Safarini
that the auxiliary power unit would soon
fail. This meant that the lighting, circulation
and other aircraft systems would shut down
as daylight faded into night. The lights on
the aircraft began to flicker, indicating the
approaching final power loss.

Defendant Safarini ordered Mr. Kharas and
flight attendant Sherene Pavan out of the
cockpit area and escorted them, along with a
few other hostages who had been seated in
the business class section, back into the two
economy class sections where all the
remaining hostages were compressed by the
hijackers. People were pressed literally on
top of each other in seats and seated in the
aisles.

As the bullets and grenades flew, Neerja Bhanot, as well as other flight attendants
and passengers, heroically managed to force
open two exits in the economy section.
The opening of the rear exit triggered
inflation of the emergency slide, but the
opening of the exit over the wing did not
trigger the inflation of a second emergency
slide.

One of the passengers mentioned this is not true, but the rest seems accurate. If you check US justice document and type Neerja in search you will read about a mother who shielded her daughter from the bullets.

Really? I remember reading the same years ago. @Bold - That is horrifying😭

Everyone suffered but Neerja DIED and can never be back. I dunno about others but I sympathize with Neerja Bhanot the most. Though all others were amazing also. It must have been impossible to help the passengers escape by just one woman, Neerja, doing all work. They all were incredible but my heart cries for Neerja's lost life and what depressing impact it left on her family who loved her so much.

Hmm.. it's a teamwork. I can understand her disappointment. The movie showed the crew members suffering though.

Maybe the movie only wanted to focus on Neerja mostly, as they made it for Neerja's family.

The team's effort was shown also but just their names were not said, their background story etc was not shown like Neerja's was.

Just an example.. In the Movie Mangal Pandey, the story was about him and him alone but when they showed the commencement of War of independence, a scene featuring other ppl willing to be a part of the war was shown too with names.. Perhaps acknowleding others bravery in this case with names would have been a good idea.. no need for background story but just their role during hijack? That doesn't seem to be asking too much, right?

Actually if you watch the film all flight attendants were shown brave. Yes Neerja was shown as the one who has presence of mind and the one incharge. Thats the main difference between her and the rest of the crew members trapped. But the bravery aspect...everyone was shown as brave. Since the story was Neerja's her back story was shown.

Yes it would have. The movie itself was just 2 hours long, the director could have done incorporated parts of others' bravery also

Funny that now after long 30 years she comes and says all this.. Very poor taste.. Anyways kudos to her too as she made it through.. But in no way Neerja's accolades are going undeserved..

Neerja deserves much more for her bravery and sacrificing her live. her colleague is trying to convey that all the flight attendant acted bravely but as unfortunately Neerja lost her life while fighting against those terrorist but others survived so they are being completely ignored for their act
She is quite right, and if Neerja had survived that on that unfortunate day then I dont think that she would have been a hero.

And I love Neerja and she deserve every sort of tribute
