Whats with so many nonsense and ridiculous statements by stars like Sonakshi saying I don't let success get into my head. Sonam saying I work for craft and not awards. Athiya saying Hero flopped but my performance was appreciated a lot. Imran khan saying I never got my due in bollywood.

I really wanna know what these guys smoke before they say these things because whatever it is I want to try that.

Or I guess they have circle of friends and employed PR people who tell them only what they want to hear. None of these stars have any guts to face reality. They can't see how fast their career is sinking.

I think Sonam do work for the craft. Even though Saawarya was a flop, she still got offers thanks to the coverage she got from the promos. Her and Deepika were hot things at the time because it was fresh blood and Rani, Pretty and Kareena were kinda stale.

Sonam did movies like Delhi 6, Aisha, Mausam, Raanjhanaa because she was interested by the plot. It's not as if she thought those were gonna be mega successful movies.

Thank You and Players were, I think atempts to showcase a more glamourous image. She had lost weight...

Imran I like him but he's delusional and lazy. He had an edge over Ranbir when they debuted but was too lazy and insecure to try and branch out of his confort zone.

Athiya was one of the best thing about Hero. Then again the movie was really bad. So her being the best thing about it doesn't mean much...

Sonakshi isn't that great of an actress imo, her performance in OUATIMD was cringe worthy and her being good in Lootera didn't mean much seeing as the movie was such a let down and that Ranveer only whispered in the movie.

Sonakshi has been lazy too thinking that being part of 100cr movies as a flowerpot was meaningful while Deepika, Anushka, Sonam, Alia, Shraddha and Parineeti did full-lenght roles in interesting movies (I'm not even talking about their performance here)

I think that the new gen being delusional is partly due to their own ego but mostly it's because of the medias hyping them and writing at lenght about how awesome they are be it in acting, fashion, attitude...

The entourage plays a big part too. I can't remember which actress did plastic surgery because of this.

For example people acted as if Varun was the second coming after Badlapur. The movie failed to deliver, he was clearly miscasted and bad in it.

All celebs are delusional to some extent 😆 It's part and parcel of what comes with the profession...losing perspective due to recognition and also struggling to retain confidence and self-belief in a field that continuously questions it or demands that you have it. This is not something restricted to a certain generation or time. We just know and hear a lot from celebs of this generation because of the media growth and consumption. If you think yesteryear celebs weren't/aren't delulu...

Not really related to the thread but while watching Filmfare awards I realized how awful the live performances of these new stars was. Like the dance performances by Alia, Jacky Fernandez, Kirti Sanon was just plain awful. The only one who entertained on the stage was Ranveer. N seriously what is background dancer doing with a wheel attached to their waist. The show was so awful and so are the new stars. 2 mins of Madhuri dancing on stage was better than Alia's spasms or JAcky's posing.
