If the reasons given here( one movie a year + being a private person) were valid, then Aamir would never be the megastar he is. i think Hrithik is not as passionate about acting as some of his seniors or even juniors(Ranbir, Ranveer) are. I don't think he gets into the skin of the character.

He is in the league of the khans and Akshaye. He is one of the top 5 stars of bollywood. And not to forget he is the youngest of the lot. None of his peers match upto him. And the khans might have done more grossing films but his one guzaarish or JA was better than 3 films of Salman combined in terms of content. I think after Aamir HR is the only one who has worked in good movies that were also commercial successes.
Having said that I really think he should consider doing more films. If not two films in a year atleast one every year. His only mistake was that he let 3-4 years in between pass w/o a single release. But again he has a lot of time to rise higher...atleast 10 more years when he can strike gold.

His journey reminds me of Ranbir. Hrithik hardly had any competition when he started. He picked a few good movies along the way that made him get ahead a few that flopped. Bt then he started doing 1 movie a year. He didn't seem to want to be the overall top star of the year he was ok being behind the khans. And he was unchallenged for a long time coz he had no competition. He can act, he can dance he can do everything. And then there's ranbir similiar to him had no competition when he started. Whilst he was doing his 1/2 movies a year and letting his personal life be talked ab more than the actual actor. He got not 1 competitor bt he has so many who can be just as good as him and they are starving to be number 1. Hrithik no words about it is a super star bt he has never gone beyond the khans and I dnt think he ever will. 1 has to wonder if he were to have had the competition that ranbir has had whether he would even be in 4th place. He is like shahid for me neither too old nor too young expect shahid got no star power sometimes I wonder hw he has fans lol. Bt there is no denying that hrithik is the total package. For me his ageepath was what a performance I compare it to big's B performance and I kind of think he did the better performance. I dnt many could say the same about Srk in Don 1 hummed away to death in that movie. I think his time has passed he could go ahead of the knws in his prime I dnt see him doing so now

Well once upon a time he was the next biggest thing in BW overtaking SRK ( as usual ) , just like every time usne SRK ko dhool chata di thee 😆 and then he got dominated due to the super stardom of other person and ofcourse due to his own decisions as well.
But i still think that he is one of those actor who can still give uncomfortable nights to the ones at top with right choices .

I think he is a superstar but never really cared enough to try to be number one. He has this interesting combination (to me anyway) of being extremely hard working but not very ambitious - I mean he tries very hard to do the best he can at what he is doing but doesn't need to show he's "better" than anyone else or be in the biggest most popular films.

I also think his ego is smaller. I used to think he was very humble and when he said things like he wasn't talented enough to do more than one film at a time he truly believed it. Then I had a phase where I thought he was only pretending to be humble and was probably an arrogant jerk. Now I think something in between. I wonder how much of the the philosophy he spouts is really trying to convince himself. He clearly is much more confident and comfortable in his skin but I think he always always carries the shy stammering little boy with a strange thumb inside him. I don't think he has the ego required to be the biggest star in India and I'm glad. But still wish he'd do more films.

After khans, Hrithik and Akshaye are the only superstars . So yeah he has achieved his own piece of superstardom with much less films in a shorter time only because he always had it in him .

He sets the bar of suprstardom pre and post Khans era .. With him whoever competed has failed, be it Abhishek , Vivek, john, shahid , uday Chopra , who all had got a lot of films due to their fathers or contacts or even good looks but they still are struggling whereas Hrithik had managed to reach a level where he's named after the khans and that of course takes dedication and hard work .

Hrithik Roshan is not a super star? 😲
If by super star you mean starring in crap masala films like Dilwale/Dabangg/Ready etc then I get ya, otherwise nah.
