Mastani came to Bajirao to protect her kingdom from her enemies. They won the battle with the help of bajirao. After that she started wooing bajirao. When bajirao gifted her his dagger, she thought he married her and started calling herself his wife.
When bajirao returned to pune,she too came there and told everyone she's his wife. At first bajirao didn't accept her because he was married but still she literally gale padaofy baji and made him accept her.
After that bajirao's marriage broke because of her,his family became his enemies and he too was depressed because of this. He neither wanted to leave his family nor mastani. In the end,he went into depression and that led to his illness and his death.
Mastani made her own life miserable. She was ridiculed, insulted everyday by everyone. She was always called the other woman in bajirao's life even after giving birth to a son.No one in the kingdom respected her.Her son was called the illegitimate son and suffered a lot at a very young age.
Her life was truly pathetic even she got love and support from bajirao.
There's nothing so great about her.She suffered so much and because of her,bajirao and their son also suffered a lot.
This is what I felt while watching the movie.
