So India is only tolerant to those saying it is the best place ever? any one who raises his voice on any issue or highlighting any negative aspect..he should be kicked out? Wow

i am sorry but this nation is intolerant and 70% of population living there is the proof of it..until these people don't stop with the threats and burning of posters of anyone who even raises a voice on any issue..i see no hope

the recent episode of fawad and mahira not being allowed to shoot in mumbai again only emphasises how intolerant is India. Shame!!

P.S: yes pakistan is worse..and yes i admit it being a pakistani..i don't want to be deluded..but just because India is better there..it still is intolerant..and the first step in changing it would be when people realize that and change themselves

@cougarTown 70% indian doesn't know or care about what a film star says
They dont even know who is Aamir Khan in the 1st place
Its a small number of people who does this
Be it Hindu radicals or Muslim radical or some social media enthusiasts who enjoys being anonymous and comments on anything and everything.
They are not even 10% of population.

I may not like what Aamir Khan has said but do not support what is happening afterwards. There are MANY people like me out there. So please do not exaggerate or generalize.

"To all those people who are calling me anti-national, I would like to say that I am proud to be Indian, and I do not need anyone's permission nor endorsement for that."

This .
No one has the right to give certificate of being a deshbhakht or a traitor depending on one's personal opinion.

I've been living with the civil war in my country and thankfully it ended after 20 odd years recently and there was never a day I didn't feel so helpless with bombs exploding in my country and we were taught how to react or rather defend ourselves during explosions at schools. I will never forget those dark days when my mom and dad were outside the school gate whenever an explosion happened in Colombo. Everybody who could afford fled from the country and you cannot blame them or call them as cowards. It's their human instinct and human right to go somewhere safer. Just an example to express my opinion to say Aamir Khan too has the right to say what he feels

I agree with this. I can't stand Aamir but I can't deny his right to having an opinion in a democracy.

guys not generalizing
ofcourse 70% of india is civilized..look at you all here..civil.people from India..so in no way i am calling everyone that

but if i speak about a country..i will say India..coz there is 1 India..and it is made of different people..so if today when i see some one like aamir being targetted and such hate for him over a mere opinion..i would obviously conclude that those odd 30% are making india an intolerant nation..

This looks like a publicity stunt to me.
Aamir has no release this year so got his dose of limelight with this.
Everyone has heard Aamir's interview. No one twisted his words.

Anyway Pakistanis need not comment on Indians or India here. We saw how forum was on fire after what Saif said about terrorism and Pakistan. Wonder where did FoE go then?

😆

End the drama though. Unnecessary controversy.

It works both ways.

Even India doesn't need certificate from him or his wife on whether it is tolerant, safe or worth living in or not.

The country owes nothing to him.

He (or his wife) wondered if they should live here or not. No one else started it.

There's civilized way of stating "I DONT AGREE WITH YOU"
When a party or multiple parties stand against a person's opinion by agitating hundred other people then that's called BULLYING
Shouldn't happen in a democratic country like India

as much as I respect Aamir I don't believe India has become unsafe in last 6-8 months..It has always been unsafe.
I was scared when the serial blasts happened in Bangalore..i was scared to take my child to the mall or even in a park fearing there would be bombs in the bushes..i was terrified when there were blast across the country and all MMS had to say was we condemn the incident ..this shouldn't have happened.
It is better to have a PM who doesn't indulge petty politics..who may not give condolences but takes action to curb unwanted incidents..I feel a bit safer now coz attacks have reduced in the country..was heartening to c in the news that someone who wanted to harm my country was caught. I feel safe under a PM who actually works.
Yes intolerance has risen and it is not restricted to one religion. Even aamir has not said anything about any religion.
But about being unsafe he got the timeline wrong..he may be feeling it now but it has existed always

Only if people understand that the issue of 'Intolerance' exists only in the Media world and in Virtual world.. In reality no common man is giving two hoots about it.. 🤔
