Modi and Salman

Modi had a spectacular performance at the centre. Wherever his party succeeded, credit went to him. Success went to his head. He rubbed with his mentor. The man who raised the party from 2 seats to near hundred, one who shielded him from getting axed after the riots was cornered. Now Modi is faced with a big blow. His supporters say, failure is a collective responsibility. Unfortunately, others are not agreeing. True, one success or one failure does not decide one's fate. It is also equally true; whoever rises has to come down, some day.

Nobody has been able to match Salman's success in the last couple of years. His heroines/directors were namesake who could not repeat their success in other movies. His last film was a Block Buster. The current film was predicted to be all time block buster. That's what he anticipated in the promotion.

In promotions, he took straight digs at a director whose films gave us the actor in him. One who is famous for wrecking a movie set for personal reason, gave gyan on the temperament one should have on sets. Now if this most anticipated film does not do well, who will take the responsibility? Salman's supporters would say, it is collective responsibility. Others would say, how much Kabir Khan was credited for Bhajrangi Bhaijaan's success.

Dec 18th is Sharukh's turn. Karma is a b.ch.

I know, Khamoshi did not do well. But I liked that movie. I liked Salman. I liked Monisha in that. Once while criticising Guzaarish (I liked even that) Salman said, even dogs would not come to watch Khamoshi. I was hurt as a viewer. How could he say that to his own product?
