Best Actress usually depends on the box office verdict of the films. The critics will reward those despite the poor box office standing.

So for best actress: Most likely Kangana. Unless BM is a box office success, then DP will also have a big chance for winning for that one. Kangana's presence in the award ceremonies may also contribute to the verdict (hope she comes)😆

I hope PC will be nominated main lead for BM but most likely since DP is such a critics "darling", PC will most likely sweep the supporting nomination.

For critics:

honestly it could go to anyone: DP for Tamasha, Kalki, Richa, Anushka, PC for DDD (and perhaps BM)

Really the audience won this year, there is no room for flowerpots to even be found in the nominated lists nominated for best actresses

Aamir didn't show up, so pointless

Hrithik - Bang Bang film most noted that year to have underachieved, plus its Hrithik doing the same old action thing

Akshay - I like him, he should have had a great chance to win...but i guess its the same deal, he doesn't show up to these things

Randeep Hooda - not many people have heard of Rang Rasiya

They always could have given it to SRK for the worst bollywood movie to ever exist Crappy New Year but guess not😆

Lots of actors have won awards when the film has not been a hit! I dont think films like Paa, Black, Ishqiya, Rockstar, were clean hits...yet the actors still won awards.

Hope she gets the Supporting Actress this year.

Best Actress will go to either Kangana for TWMR or DP for Piku.

This is such a great decade for actresses, they are getting the best roles and giving brilliant performances! 😃 Its high time actresses got equal pay at par with their contemporary heros.

OK... All said & done,

Don't know about other "Commercial" events but...

Filmfare Best Actress (Popular) must go to Kangana Ranaut for TWMR. FAIR & SQUARE!!!

Reasons??? Plenty!! Kahaan Se Shuru Karoon!...

Least to say she well exceeds both the critical and commercial barometer required for the recipient.

Having said that, proud of our leading ladies. Solid nominations expected and more exciting than the actors! :)

I don't understand what was so great about Tanu or dattu. As Tannu she was plain annoying and as Dattu, I didn't even understand a word she uttered. The movie was bloody annoying and highly over-rated.

I have just seen Piku, DP was good but story was the winner. In Tamasha too DP was Ok when compared to Ranbir.

Dunno about Anushka.

But I think Kalki impressed just with the trailer in Margarita.

Watching BM tomo so will comment on PC and DP's acting later on.
