Because Fardeen, Uday, Tushar, Aftab, Zayed Khan and Abhishek can't act well. And their looks were not enough to have enough of a female following. As for the rest:

Jimmy Shergill: really good actor but perhaps doesn't have the "looks" and luck isn't on his side to get signed for all the critical roles.

Arjun: He did have a rise in the middle but I don't think his acting has improved much.

John: He was known as the "hottest" male celeb for a while and gives hits every now and then so I wouldn't say he failed necessarily.

Madhavan: Great actor. Not conventionally attractive. ;/

OT- Yeah, HR is the only one in his age group. There r khans n Akshay and Ajay and then there Varun to shahid.

Its a golden era for HR... but he is either 200% on or big 0. He can rule this decade if wants to. DEkhte hain. Hope he looks after his health.

Always thought Fardeen was decent enough. He wasn't expectional but he could give an expression and deliver a dialogue and had the looks. Shame he never made it.

The late 90's early 2000's wasn't the greatest time to debut. Khan's were still looking young, they had the attraction of the youth. There wasn't a real demand for young stars then. Hrithik was the exception to the rule, he just had it all from day one. People say Shahid isn't lucky but if anything the guy is extremely lucky he was able to stay somewhat afloat in that time period.

Ranbir, Varun, Sid etc these new guys are lucky. They debuted at time where the Khan's may still be reiging, but there's a new generation of kids and teenagers who are looking for youthful idols and stars.

Jimmy Shergill isn't a failure. He's not. The guy took the opportunity when it came and became a big name up north.

All the star kids flopped, i'm so glad. 😆
