Amy Jackson's Collection of 20 DVDs of Top Bollywood Films

Considering Akshay Kumar's love interest Amy Jackson in Singh Is Bliing, is a Britisher, one wonders how this English rose ended up in Bollywood after winning titles such as Miss Teen World and Miss Liverpool. With a laugh, Amy says that she has no idea herself.

"I still ask myself this question." She reveals, "I won the Miss Teen World competition in USA in 2008 and A L Vijay, director of Madrasapattinam (2010), saw me on a website and thought he had found the perfect person for his leading lady. He said he had hunted high-and-low in England for me. So, I feel privileged. The movie ended up being a huge hit in the South."

From there, Bollywood was a hop-skip-and-jump away and Amy made her debut in Ekk Deewana Tha (2012) opposite Prateik Babbar. "My knowledge of Bollywood wasn't fabulous at that time, to be honest," she accepts candidly. "But it is huge; it's the biggest film industry in the world and so obviously I am completely aware of it."

Now that Amy is beginning her second innings in Bollywood with a big film like Singh is Bliing, she already feels like an insider. "Now I feel like I have been part of it all my life. I feel like a new professional in the industry," she says. "My friends gave me DVD's of the top 20 Bollywood films and after I started watching them, I have become an absolute lover of Hindi films now."
