Director Kabir Khan is on a high after delivering a blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman Khan last month. And he is back again with an another promising looking film Phantomstarring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film is touted to be a cross border action thriller, which deals with the serious issue of terrorism. Will Kabir Khan hit the bulls eye yet again?
Our reviewer, Rukmini Chopra, is watching the film and this is what she thinks of the first half of Phantom:
I've not had one chance to blink ever since this film has started. Kabir Khan is on a roll. After giving us a heartfelt film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the filmmaker has lived up to our expectations yet again with Phantom. Based on the book Mumbai Avengers by Hussain Zaidi, this venture has managed to keep me om the edge of my seat since the start. Meet Saif Ali Khan aka Daniyal Khan, a former Army officer who was kicked out due to a tragic incident. What it was is up to you to find out. Daniyal has been hired by RAW for a mission to kill the Pakistani terrorists who were involved in the horrific 26/11 attacks on Mumbai. He is made to meet Katrina Kaif aka Nawaz, a former RAW agent who now works as a security counselor and supplies arms to refugee camps. She helps Saif on his mission. Daniyal has now reached a point where he is close to meeting the leader of LET. Saif is convincing in his role as a vengeful ex army officer. Katrina however fails to live up to her character. The pace of the storyline is fast which is its strong point. Some action scenes are believable while there are some which seem exaggerated. All in all however, they make for a thrilling watch. The background score works well with the violent scenes, and the added twists to the plot keep it exciting. There's no dull moment in the film till now, kudos to Kabir. Its interval and a glitch in Daniyal's mission has put him in a dilemma.. On whether he should continue or not. Will he? I can't wait to watch!

Phantom dared to make a movie on 26/11 a decade before Dharundar touched this topic. Much like dharundar..it had a tagline which said a story...
