Gone are the days when, Khans were the only ones who could ensure an explosive opening day. Today, youngsters can command equal footing at the box office. Varun Dhawan's ABCD 2 had the highest first opening in 2015 before Bajrangi Bhaijaan squashed it. But it seems in this box office race, his Student of the Year co-star Sidharth Malhotra has gone beyond. The actor's Brothers has managed to trump ABCD 2's weekend collections.
In first three days of its presence at the theatres,Brothers has earned nearly 58.31 cr while ABCD 2 had amassed only 46.35 cr in its first weekend. If that wasn't enough, even the opening day collection of Sidharth's Brothers is more than Varun's ABCD 2.Brothers clocked 15.20 cr while ABCD 2 managed 14.30 cr only. This proves who among these two youngsters have a bigger following.
This is not the first time that Sidharth has managed to trump Varun at the box office. Last year, while Main Tera Hero's opening weekend was at 22.73 cr andHumpty Sharma Ki Dulhania's at 33.74 cr, Ek villain earned 50.50 crore on its opening weekend. The latter even went on to make 100 crore.
Well it seems, Sidharth has managed to knock Varun Dhawan down a lot of time at the box office.
