From Raju to Raees

King Khan personifies change. Like the good actor that he is, he's always the character he's currently playing. He does not just play the role, he becomes it. Like a chameleon, he has transformed himself many times over the last two decades. Today, we chronicle our favourite looks of Shah Rukh Khan and show exactly why he is the Badshah.
Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman
Ill fitted clothes were worn by someone who was to become one of India's biggest superstars. Lanky and dark, SRK rose to fame as the quirky Raju, giving us a glimpse at what was to come. The scruffy hair added to the cuteness.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
SRK immortalized the role, the character and the look of Raj. As every girl (and boy's) dream romantic hero, King Khan was every bit the Bollywood aashiq. We still can't get over the aviators and leather jacket look.
Dil To Pagal Hain
Dil To Pagal Hain was all about dance and style. As the leading actor, SRK held his own against divas like Madhuri Dixit and Karishma Kapoor whose styles were emulated throughout the country. In his oh-so-tight clothes, SRK gave us a look at just how toned he'd become for the role.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Leave it to SRK to iconize one character after another. Rahul, the style icon with his colourful tight tee shirts and patterned outfits. It's not just the 'cool' chain that decks his tanned chest, its the attitude that comes with it.
Mohabbatein
For the iconic SRK pose with the hands spread apart in an imaginary embrace that has become quintessentially King Khan. For the sweater thrown casually over those shoulders. For the glasses and the violin. For the look of the romantic hero that is SRK through and through.
Asoka
As the great emperor Asoka, King Khan looked royal and edgy with long unruly hair, kohled eyes and armour that accentuated his toned, hard body. After all, only a king can play a king.
Devdas
As the heartbroken and desolate Devdas, SRK donned kurtas and looked every bit the bhadralok in this Sanjay Leela Bhansali masterpiece. His eyes take the cake in the movie. No styling, no amount of makeup or cinematic lighting could recreate the sorrow that only Shah Rukh can portray with such lan.
Don and Don 2
Such oomph. We almost don't notice PC or Bebo in their hot avatars because we are too busy drooling over his suave look in Don. He's the man's man. Only he could do justice to Big B's legacy.
Chak De! India
As the intense Kabir Khan with the beard and crow's feet that add to the subtle charm that the character has, Shah Rukh Khan steals our hearts with his remarkable delivery as the disgraced man who makes his country the most proud.
Om Shanti Om
We have only one word for his look in this Farah Khan film - Wow! Not only for his six pack abs that rocked the nation or the effortless way in which he fits into the 80s mould but also for the dedication that must have gone into creating that body.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Our heart beats for Suriji. SRK gave us one of the most innocent and loving character in this film. Those nerdy glasses, worn out clothes, the heartwarming middle class sweetness... We can't stop smiling.
Ra.One
Only SRK could make such dead eyes and robotic behaviour look so darn cute. His blue eyes, spiked hair and tight, electric blue outfit make him the most adorable hero.
Raees
It's been a long journey from Raju to Raees and SRK has only grown from strength to strength. He has evolved and reintroduced himself with every role like the great actor that he is. We love his look in Raees and there is really nothing more that we can say.
