Even I have been wondering about the negative reviews. Do you people think it's because of the stolen/inspired portions? I mean the reviews which absolutely trashed this film kept mentioning 'Devotion of Suspect X' . I haven't read the book, so I have no idea how similar this movie is with the book but it looked like they were pissed off 😆

@five stars : Nobody really acknowledges the Telugu version but I think even it was excellently made. Nadhiya and Venkatesh were awesome. I think the Telugu version did justice to the original.

I loved the movie, must watch. Take a bow Ajay & Tabu one more mind blowing performance. I hope the money makes mullah that it deserves.

I Watched it yesterday in a full house.

Its a superb movie, must watch

Ajay, Tabu and Shriya all nailed it.

Even the supporting characters playing the bad cop, the rest owner, the cable operator boy everyone was fantastic

and of course Rajat as Tabu's husbands and Ajay's daughters every one was so bang on with expressions.

I haven't watched the Malaylam or Tamil version so the story looks so gripping and interesting

Infact I liked both the halves, I dont know why people find the first half boring, it was fast paced and story was moving forward . All the events shown in first half has relevance in second half so I didn't find any irrelevance or filler scenes

saw the original malyalam one and telugu tamil also

watched it for tabu but it was not as good as expected

she was gud in her role not excellent

ajay not a single expression on his face no anger no sadness no smile nothing

shriya was bad

ajay's daughters the younger one was excellent and elder one is ok

younger one ki acting was 👏

defo not a top notch like south remakes or original but a one time watch movie

for people who dint watch any of the previous drishyam movies shld definitely watch it

I found two dialouges interesting in the end...first when Ajay tells Rajat and Tabu that he sent the bin bulaye mehmaan to his home and now he can no longer trouble them. Second when he says the incharge of the new police station that the police station will protect them. Basically both times he gave a hint as to where Sam's body was.

Drishyam Holds Well But On Lower Side

Drishyam has had a decent hold on Monday with collections looking to be around 3.75 crore nett but due to the low start that won't really be good enough. The film really needed to be around 5 crore nett and at worst to 4.50 crore nett if it was to pull through. The drop is looking 30% from day one which normally would be very good but here the film opened poorly.

Basically the film has held well but the Monday figure of 3.75 crore nett is not too good. The best hold has come in Mumbai and Central India and the four day plus paid previews collections are around 26.50 crore nett.

The week will go to around 35 crore nett which is well below the mark and this would make it impossible to get a respectable 65 crore nett plus. If the week went over 40 crore nett then it may have made it.

Mohanlal was superb!! I only watched the original. Yet to watch the Hindi remake.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Mohanlal's character has simplicity, yet he is very intelligent. Very mischievous, yet very mature. Meena (as his wife) was also very good.

I find Ajay very expressionless. I have doubts if he would have been able to do justice to this role which has been so amazingly played by Mohanlal.

I'm gonna just wait for a decent internet version to see this Hindi remake.
