BW when they make big budget films, they're usually going by a trend, put in things like "audience ko yeh acha lagega" types.

Can Bolly think of ever making a film like Mad Max fury where they talk about how more mixing of blood is needed to stave off albinism and such genetic disorders.

Can they make something like Avatar where the earth is completely destroyed in ever growing greed/consumerism and war.

Can they make interstellar where GMOs have completely decimated the bees and only food available is rotting GM corn.

saruk made ra1 because robot did well. that's not the way to sink your money. Bolly is too concerned with numbers.

Even in Bahubali, they added a completely unnecessary and cringe-worthy love track, in order to make it more sale-able. 😆
I think there is a serious problem with the vision, most of the times it is either not translated well on screen or it isn't present at all. Also many of the flms mentioned in the topic don't have a story only, in the first place.😆

Big stars, big story and big ego leaves no money for a small thing like script and story. So movie tanks while destroying all the black money in a legal way.😆

I will talk about two big budget films..Bombay Velvet and Baahubali both had 120 cr budget..BV was disaster coz of the pace and not even for a sec I could see where all the money was gone..where as Bahubali each n every scene was grand u will see where the money was well spent.. It all depends on the directors vision and confidence on content..
Bahubali first part was made with 120 cr and it earned 400+ approx in 15 days..may be this will show path to the directors..

True the vision should be clear Rajamouli took 200 days to shoot 40 min of war sequence.. He doesn't compromise with value and quality..also the cast is equally good..prabhas gave 2 yes for this mve and took training of 6 months..

@Mani-RK : I agree. The war sequence was seriously epic. I loved each and every second of it.

Maybe because they forget to have a script among the more important things.

Most of them are big budget films primarily due to actors' fees.

Most of them just go bonkers over stars, embellishments etc and ignore story.

All these big budget films are usually underwhelming. Mangal Pandey The Rising, Roop ki rani choron ka raja, Ra One, Blue, Kambakht Ishq etc.

Only effects, stars, costumes etc are not everything. We need engaging stories, proper pace to keep the interest as a viewer. Nobody goes for mere fancy dress and effects but nothing interesting in terms of content.

Stars and filmmakers just get carried away.

Very few are able to pull off a success. Mughal e Azam is more an exception than a rule.

I think the main problem is these BW people first self-declare that xyz is a trend and then follow it. No creativity,no experimentation. they spend in all the wrong areas. VFX without creativity is garbage.
