I don't if I would say he pulled it off!

He was intense but he still does not look the part I.e. royal!

He looks too ordinary or small or young for a king!

Men with better screen presence and intense voice could have done better!

I would say Hrithik !

Ranbir Kapoor...
No one does intense like Ranbir...

Especially in Barfi...that scene where he confronts Illeana for misleading him into thinking he had a chance with her affections...

Ooof!!! Most understated but powerful scene that stayed with me

But Ranveer too is fab. The industry is SO darn lucky to have The three R's ...Ranbir, Ranveer, Rajkumar Rao as heroes after SrK, Sallu and Akshay. They come into the Aamir, Saif category...exceedingly good actors and experimented with huge success..who can forget Saifs Omkara? And Kal Ho NA Ho? And Aamirs ...well, all of his films.

Hurray for the the three R's. They keep the acting flag flying high...so looking forward to what they give us in future.

royalll?!?!?*!*!!*!!!!* King !*!?!?*"*"*"

you need to have clear idea about who is bajirao... if u don't know the history, read it!

baji is not a king, he is prime minister and a fighter... he is very average looking in paintings and statues...

pata nahi without reading history, why ppl repeat nonsense in each post

Whatever images/potraites/stuff I have read Ranveer is PERFECT!
Especially since Bajirao died young at age of 37... So that way is good choice

Yep RS is a good choice as well esp bec Bajirao died at 40 and he has worked quite hard which is obvious... but I have said Hrithik in my comment bec of this & HR suits such roles.
And,Peshwas were not warriors or kings but Peshwa means-Prime minister.

That's because the 17th century Maratha general was said to be a Hindu Kokanastha Chitpavan Brahmin and the sect is known for its fair-skin and light-colour eyes " brown or blue. Earlier, in a couple of Marathi TV serials based on the Maratha, the actors were also shown to be light-eyed.

And this is the lead who played Bajirao in from Marathi serial Srimant Peshwe Bajirao

Angad Mhaskar from Marathi serial Srimant Peshwe Bajirao

Ajay Devgn when he was younger. His voice is very deep and it would've worked so well. Ranveer looks great but I am not convinced about his voice. His voice is not deep enough.
However contrary to misconceptions here as usual, Bajirao was not a king or even royal. He was a Hindu Brahmin. Brahmins are not supposed to look huge or imposing. They are not kshatriyas. Peshwas were the only generals in the history of India who were upper-caste Hindus.
People should really read up before saying stuff.

I think Ranveer has excellent delivery, but yes, he does have a "feminine" lilt to his voice. I think he's actually turned it into a strength, adding a more "boyish" vulnerability when he emotes, but I guess that won't fly in Bajirao.
