First review not bad! I've honestly been nervous about the reviews. Glad Varun has made a mark, not expecting lot's of critical acclaim but hoping his performance doesn't get a negative or weak response

ABCD 2 To Open Well Especially Mumbai And South

ABCD 2 should be able to put up a good showing on day one as some circuits are likely to open very well. Dance films have a solid market in Maharashtra, South and Bengal. There have not been many dance films in India probably because they do perform well all over.

The trend was similar with ABCD - Any Body Can Dance which did well in Maharashtra and South but not so well in other circuits. In the 80's the successful dance films like Disco Dancer and Dance Dance did more business in small circuits like Nizam and Mysore than a big circuit like Delhi/UP.

The opening in places like Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan and Bihar will be dependent on star power. If Delhi city and East Punjab were to go to 1.25 crore nett on day one it would mean the emergence of another young box office star after Ranbir Kapoor as the film will be doing these numbers due to Varun Dhawan rather than the content which holds little appeal in these circuits.

Good, so if it does well some credit does have to go to Varun. Hopefully people don't find other excuses and not give him any credit

Yes.very happy for Varun..the industry is going through a big change..Varun and others are going to be the torch bearers of the industry for the next 15 -20 years. We suddenly have a good handful of hardworking, talented young actors..We need at least 6/7 actors in this age range ..so that the industry can keep churning out films. Some regional film industries collapsed because of the void left by senior actors.

'ABCD 2' Set To Be Varun Dhawan's Biggest Opener Till Date

Almost a year back when Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania released, it turned out to be a good success while also registering the biggest ever opening for Varun Dhawan. With the opening day collections of 9 crore, it ensured a safe ride ahead for the film. Now Varun Dhawan can be assured that his tomorrow's release ABCD 2 would have an even bigger start.

There are many factors going in the film's favor. First and foremost, Varun is enjoying an unbeatable streak of four successes in a row (Student of the Year,Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badlapur) and is being considered as a dependable star. Secondly, Shraddha Kapoor has managed a good fan following as well sinceAashiqui 2. Thirdly, the film is sequel toABCD, a much moved film that did well despite no known names as the main leads. Fourthly, the film's music is enjoyable and though there is no huge chartbuster, the soundtrack as a whole works. Fifth - the film has rightly been targeted for families.

To add to this, there are bonus elements in the form of Prabhudheva as the dancing star and 3D as an offering. A solo arrival is a huge positive as well. With UTV going all out to promote the film across all platforms, it is a given that the film would take a very good opening. It has to be seen though whether the film would be biggest opener for Shraddha Kapoor too since her Ek Villain had enjoyed an opening day of almost 17 crore, a huge feat indeed. Though that would be too high a number to reach, anything over 10 crore opening day would be a matter of celebration for the Remo D'Souza directed affair.

Double digit opening would be gr8, but this is a Ramadan release lets see fingers crossed 😆
