It doesn't even make sense to me how you should be able to even TRY and diagnose someone you don't know, or even have personally interviewed. You don't have access to enough information to perform a reliable diagnostic review. I think it's borderline unethical actually. No offense to the med students here, I'm not undermining your knowledge ladies! But yeah, diagnosing public personalities without at least a clinical interview? No.

the discussion might involve freedom of speech and expression etc. and right to discuss a mental condition but it always goes hand in hand with discretion..is it going to do harm to another?

to those in medical studies and medical professions, mental issues are nothing but a fact of life, they are no different from math bio science...

to a layperson mental condition means, mad, weak, to be treated with kid gloves, no one wants to be associted with any kind of mental condition, be it depression, bi polar, schizo, to some it may seem like a life sentence...the larger population havent done any studies, and seen it can be treated, one can lead a normal life

if one wants to hav a detailed discussion with medical terms (which we non medical people have no clue about) there is always PM

there is no rule in IF which says you are not allowed to discuss the possibility of any star having this serious mental disorder or indeed even physical disorder, its just something we ourselves take judgment on and decide if its fair to the other person to say does he have schizo, bi polar, multiple personality disorder, look at the way he talks, dresses...

the written word DOES impact

Katrina kaif disclosed on the Conclave interview that when other stars rated her acting lowest she was hurt..

its not always a question of right or not in lawful terms, its always how your behavior legal or not impact others

I do not see Ranveer especially his family being amused at a diagnosis of bi bolar disorder because he went to a party in pajamas..and acts and talks loud...

only people who have some sort of familiarity with these terms and conditions who wont consider it offensive, the majority do not take it so lightly

That was my point here.
It's NOT wrong that people wld question you, if you post something like this, you can't suspect someone has bipolar disorder just by looking at them on screen, so that itself is wrong, you wanna discuss this particular illness there are other ways to do it, but posting pics and how high energy someone is, and say he might have it, it just doesn't sound right...to add to this is how people react when it comes to actors and actresses.
So this discussion to turn into disaster was bound to happen, it's fair that the TM knew this much when they opened this thrd.
I don't see any positive thing that come out this whole discussion, so what's the point?? People fought, mocked and whatnots, I don't see any achievement whatsoever.
When you raise such issues, it's in the hope of achieving some positive attitude even if it's from one single person.
As we all can see that's not the case here.
If you open the same topic and change the actor in question to say, Salman or SRK, the outcome wld be the same, and we can't even say it's wrong to react this way...that's the reality of this place

And both parties are in the wrong here.

It's better if this discussion was done elsewhere, given how sensitive this matter is.
