Does Ranveer have Bipolar Disorder?

I'm not kidding.
I'm wondering.
He has quite a few symptoms that go with the criteria for Manic or Hypomanic episodes. And Bipolar 1 doesn't need to have a depressive phase for diagnosis. Just manic.

He clearly seems to step outside/violate societal rules in subtle ways.
Like showing up at a professional event like this.

Always having excessive energy, being uninhibited, not knowing where to stop.
Could be manic or hypomanic.
Especially his recent behavior while hosting IIFA.

Here's a cliff note definition Manic and Hypomania from USMLE First Aid book.
You need to hit at least 3 of the criteria to be diagnosed.

Oh boy
Could be

But if it is not treated it can go worse

The depressive episodes start to follow and your life becomes miserable

His energy is always a bit too high for a normal person

It actually never even occurred to me that he may have it. Sure we all kept saying he has too much energy and laughed it off. Psych disorders generally don't become disorders until you can say it disrupts someone's life or manifests in an obvious way.

Showing up to a professional event like that coupled with his usual over enthusiastic behavior kinda got me thinking.

Generally you're right, BP gets worse with them. The Manic episodes become more frequent and he may start to get hit with the depressive symptoms.

Again this is IF he's Bipolar. It's just a guess from my side at this point.
He may never even get diagnosed if he has it because in Desi society, generally speaking, psychiatric disorders always get brushed under the rug and don't get the attention they deserve.

Nope, doesn't fit the criteria. And a lot of psychiatric conditions have to do with impaired social, occupational functioning, which doesn't seem to be the case with him, at least from we know.

He's just high on energy and tries to push the envelope or basically keeps working at the image he has created.

So, nahhh.

Could be. could be just a personality type which is why it didn't even cross my mind.
Only thinking maybe based off of the recent event where he completely went over eccentric.

For instance, in real life, if an adult is invited to a professional event, imagine a man showing up to a conference or a professional setting in pajamas.

But of course, you're right in the sense that it could just be someone who's rebellious. It's hard to tell or know where to draw the line.
A very close friend of mine, completely functional, recently got diagnosed with BP.
And the only symptom she had was super distractibility. Couldn't focus on anything, grades were plummeting, and the Dean referred her to the counselor, who told her that she thinks she might be having a Manic attack.
Sure enough, she got diagnosed shortly after.

It's hard to make any diagnosis based off of just public appearances, of course. It's just a guess, nothing more 😊

^^^^ Of course all symptoms may not be prevalent. That's the reason people don't get treated unless and until it starts affecting their daily activities, which happened to be the case with your friend.

From what we know from media, sounds more like a case of working his quirky image, voluntary actions. Anything to get the people talk about him. I would say more of a histrionic personality disorder. Then again most of us share bits of these personality disorders. So unless and until it starts affecting our lives, not much to think about...

Just my analysis lol

Hmm...good one, the attention seeking behavior and whatnot. But does he seem like a drama queen w
But the reason I was thinking he might be Bioplar is the combination.
For instance, Lady Gaga is eccentric as well. But then she doenst display the over enthusiastic behavior/energy that generally goes with Bipolar. Ranveer has that combination.

Just throwing ideas out there 😊
