for such a big budget film feel by the first weekend it should have made more than 40 crs...The collections on Mon too r less...should have been around 8crs...doesn't look like it will b a hit though it might recover it's budget...

DDD had a good release date...it's WOM isn't that good...

IPL ended on the 24th, so at least it doesn't mean that DDD has any advantage of being the first film after IPL. TMWR was already running at that time so for obvious reason people would go watch it the following weekend. DDD was after over 2 weeks of IPL which is already too far off and people wouldn't crave for watching a new movie that much.

Arrey bhai shubh shubh bolo. I hope both movies work. U never know hak comes out as surprise package. The advantage for hak is good music. I hope ddd sustains too. Ranu n peecee I so loved them 👏

Honestly, I loved the movie sooo much. All this money and numbers talk just ruins the viewing experience. I don't know why I'm thinking so much about whether it flops or not. I still gonna watch a 3rd time. 😆
FYI if anyone is curious. I went last night--Monday night 10 PM show in Chicago and it was pretty packed like arund 20-30 people. This makes me so happy!

I think it's safe to say KJo and Zoya are more NRI directors and end up attracting that crowd more.

CE has good songs lungi dance is enough, BB music is hit bang bang title and tu meri , Kick has jumme ki raat, PK has Aamir khan and hirani so great buzz...exception is K3 and music was the main reason for that one as well to score low(atleast could have been better like krrish and koi mil gaya)

P.S -- for that matter yjhd had badtameez dil which gave push for of course great pairing, chikni chameli for agneepath, sheila ki jawani for tees maar khan, baby doll song for raagini MMS 2

But one can even conclude that YJHD only got such a big opening ws b/c the music was such a big hot: I mean Kabira, Delhiwali Girlfriend, BD, Nalam, Ghangra. It had like so many hit songs. This one didn't even have 1. 😆

it's understandable if she went with SEL again for DDD, because ZMND album was bomb. It was accepted so well, and the soundtrack melded EFFORTlessly with the background tracks and the scenes.

It really was bad luck and this is why I sometimes feel bad for the way it works with music composition in Indian movie music industry... composers have to compose when they're called to do it, not when they feel creatively ready enough.

Hence it can definitely be hit and miss more often than not.

True, even AR Rahman has bad days nowadays too. It happens. I think Zoya wanted a particular style for ehr songs and SEL tried to adjust to that but failed. ZNMD was more poetic and that fits SEL style a lot more. Especially that one song with Farhan--so soulful!

I loved the movie a lot too! The movie is doing well in Australia too!! Seems like Indians in India are regressive and therefore did not like the movie! Feeling bad that it flopped!

since the film didn't make good collections so blame Indian audience, call them regressive 😆...the same audience which made films like DLKH,Queen and Piku hits...

Just back from the film.Yes the film was slow..but I didn't get bored for a minute.I liked the languid pace .Zoya is a good director and she is super confident.I didn't mind the climax at all..we all needed to have a bit of fun..The film had a light touch and I liked that about the film.

The performances were all round good..PC should have got more praise. How beautiful is she .Anu was looking no less👍🏼.I really liked the fact that all the young girls including Noorie were so different and unique.AK and Shefali were super too.

Ranveer..I dont l praise my favorites..I leave that to the others😳

This is a feel good film..Very few will come out of the theater and say they didn't like it..

I am confident DDD will remain steady at the BO..If Piku can do it..this film too can.Overseas it will get very good numbers.

Are you serious ? 😆 ..or was it just a deliberate retort in response to how your previous comment was received ? 😆.. you need to find better arguments than attacking an entire nation for the failure of a film.. its not about Indians being regressive , its about the movie clicking with its target audience (which it did) .. does not make anyone regressive or progressive .. you claimed to have liked the film , so by your logic you should by default be progressive, right ? but your post goes on to prove otherwise & there goes your argument .. 😆
